How to raise mission-minded children? Podcast
I can't say i have the answers to raising mission-minded children because this has not been my focus over the years, nor sadly was not what has been a part of my own personal life nor what I felt we needed to be training our children in. Missions and being missionaries were for others. That’s not who we were or what we did. We just lived our lives for God and kept our faith much to ourselves or at least was not out evangelizing as missionaries that was not our call. But recently I have been very convicted in this area. The great commission is a command for all. And I feel it is definitely something we need to be doing ourselves and raising our children to be mission-minded. How do we expect them to care about the lost and unreached if they don’t see that care in us the parents and showing them by example? They will just follow our footsteps of living their lives very much just for themselves. So i can’t really i don’t have to how-tos, but i have the don’ts. Missions are not just for missionaries, the call is for all. Ann Dunagan I just came across some really great missions podcast. First, i listened to Pam Feilds podcast number 19 titled Mission Minded Motherhood where she interviewed Ann Dunagan. Ann talked about her family’s ministry and about how we are we all have a responsibility to share the gospel. From that podcast, i went to Ann’s podcast called Mission-Minded Families podcast, and from hers found a couple of others too. Missions suitcase, Ann Dunagan Podcast mission-minded families https://missionminded.libsyn.com/ The Mission Suitcase by Lisa Batchelor The Mom Next Door By Pam Feilds # 19 Mission Minded Motherhood with Anna Dunagan. Dos: Here is some ideas that i think we will help besides just being a good example in being mission-minded. IS praying for the unsaved, reading missionary stories, listening to missions podcast, watching missionary or missions-minded films Dont’s: Don’t be too focused on entertainment, stuff, money, activities that pull families every from home in different directions. The apostle Paul I believe is a good example of a missionary who was not driven by money, and went through numerous hardships for the gospel’s sake, not considering his own health and wealth. And many more noble yet humble missionaries in our history who were so dedicated and full of compassion for the hearts and souls of the lost that they went to the very ends of the earth, risking their very lives in so many different ways, had very little of material wealth, and this world's comfort for no other reason except all for the Love of God and for the sake of bringing the gospel to those that hadn't heard. That is what we need to be presenting to our children. And are they still in? Are they still hungry for God and for living out their lives for Him and purposes? Are they willing to say yes not considering the cost or what this may cost them? Not considering what they may lose here on earth, but what they will gain in heaven. If we are of Christ then our hearts need to be in alignment with His. The love of God is laying down our lives for others. In Him, Mae Renfroe

Hey fellow mothers, I'm back! it's been awhile since I've been able to do an episode , and I'm excited about doing this one. I talk about the verse 2 Corinthians 5:20 that says we are to be ambassadors for Christ.
So I dig into what exactly is an ambassador, and how that looks for us as Christ followers. What is our role as ambassadors and what makes a great ambassador. We as mom's are to ambassadors for Christ and we are to be raising our children to be ambassadors. When we realize just who we are in Christ and fully embrace and step into that then it takes care of so many other issues in our lives. We can then have our perspectives and priorities in the right alignment with God and His will.
2 corinthians 5:20
"Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God." We are to be ambassadors for Christ. But what exactly is an ambassador?
Ambassador [amˈbasədər] NOUN
an accredited diplomat sent by a country as its official representative to a foreign country. An ambassador is an official envoy, usually a high-ranking diplomat who has been appointed to be in another country on behalf of their own country. They represent the moral principals and standards of their country, even though they may be far away from their homeland. When people see them they think of the country they represent. a person who acts as a representative or promoter of a specified activity. "he is a good ambassador for the industry" synonyms: campaigner · representative · exponent · promoter · proponent · advocate · champion · supporter · backer · upholder · protagonist · booster
And what does it mean to be an ambassador for Christ? It could be said this way, that the “best of the best” is to be representing God, through His Son Jesus Christ here on earth! It must be someone who exemplifies Jesus. God wants to speak to us and through us, by His Son. (Hebrews 1:2-3)
What is the role we are to carry out? we need to be in tune with that which is godly. “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread.” Matthew 6:10-11. God’s will be done! How can this happen in my personal life? In order to have His will done in my life, my own will has to be done away with. “Behold, I have come … to do Your will, O God.” Hebrews 10:7-9. “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20. What are the qualifications of a good ambassador? As an ambassador for God, my self-will must be crucified so I can do God’s will.when my “self” is given up, then Christ can live in me and through me, to an ever increasing degree. 4 but just as we have been approved by God pto be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not qto please man, but to please God rwho tests our hearts. 1 Thessaianloians 2:4 We need to be equipped in the word and in the knowledge of His Truth and righteousness. Be strong and courageous. Be bold and fearless. Be ready to give an account of the hope that's in you. A Christian is someone whose behavior and heart reflect Jesus Christ. God hears us before we even speak a word, ( Psalms 139:4 - Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely. Isaiah 65:24- Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. ) So we can be assured that He hears our every prayer. And we can also be assured that He answers our every prayer too. But what we need to realize is that He answers in His time, His way and His will. So the answers don’t always come when we want, how we want and don’t always look the way we want them to. But He answers our prayers according to His will and what’s best for us for our good and for his glory. And that is really what we want anyway. We just want Him in our lives and His will done in our lives. I believe God answers every prayer in one of three ways. Yes. No. And not yet. In this video I want to encourage you to not give up or get weary in prayer, and not lose hope. But continue to seek the Father and His will and His heart. And seek and pray that your desires and heart longings are aligned with those of God’s. Psalms 37:4 tells us that when we take delight in the LORD, he will give us the desires of your heart. But first and foremost God himself needs to be the desire of our hearts. God and His Will for our lives need to be the desire of our hearts. And when we desire or love God with all our hearts, soul, and mind then hearts should be in the right place and we will be desiring the right things. May you be blessed and encouraged with this post and video about prayer. In Him, Mae What do we do with the time God has given us? Are we doing His will? This is a word for somebody11/8/2020 Hi you all! God has been speaking to my heart lately on many things and so I just had to squeeze in time for this video and share with you all. Some of these things I have shared before about making the most of our time and how we should be living in a since of urgency for spreading the Word of God and being the light in our crazy world. But I am being more and more convicted that we need to be all the more diligent about spreading the gospel at this time and being the hands and feet of Jesus if we truly love Him. If we love God with all our hearts, soul, mind, and strength then it should show in every area of our lives. we should be just as passionate about reaching the lost, the lonely, and the hurting just as Jesus was. We need to have the heart of the Father. I reveal our surprise in this fun video of our travelling on a four-day road trip with 10 of us! I also talk about a verse that's been on mind the past couple of days, and I talk about Walking by Faith . We don't look at those things around us, but we look up to the One who keeps and holds us in His hands. We walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7 He is with us wherever we go. Joshua 1:9 We are instructed to be strong, bold, and courageous. Not fearful, not timid, not weak. But we walk in the strength and power of God. We don't walk by fear, but only by faith. We don't have to be afraid. He said He will never leave us or forsake us. And we can say with boldness He is our Lord and our helper. Our refuge, shield, and strong tower. Proverbs 18:10 Hebrews 13:5 -6 Sure we don't know what tomorrow may bring, but we know who holds our every tomorrow. please feel free to connect with me here on my blog and i will get back to you as soon as i can. Mae Renfroe In this video, I read the story in the Bible about the boy that gave his lunch to Jesus to feed the hungry crowed. Jesus took the 2 fish and five loaves and blessed it and fed the crowd of over 5,000. What I point out is that it was not necessary for the boy to have had enough food for everybody, but it was only necessary to give what he had. An Jesus did the rest! Too often we focus on what we don't have and what we can't do and in doing so that holds us back from doing anything. All God asks is that we give what we do have. Focus on what we do have. Even if what we have seems too meager, not enough, not good enough, etc..... Just give it. God will bless it for His glory. So what is in your hands? What do you have that you can give to God for His use? Maybe it's your resources, your time, your spare room, your interests, your talents, your story, your testimony.your money? Like the two fish and the 5 loaves, God will take your offering and bless it and it will do more with it than you ever would have could have imagined. Because with God all things are possible. God does not ask for our ability, but our availability. We serve a God of the impossible! For the spiritual part of the video I introduce my video series, Is it God you Really Want or Just Heaven? May you be inspired to go all in and all out for God! In Him, Mae #5 Hope from the Cemetery video - Giving thanks when we are going through storms and trials in life7/26/2020 Hey there, I'm so glad you stopped by! And Welcome to another video from my Hope From the Cemetery series. This week I talk about finding things to be thankful for in the midst of life's storms and struggles, and how powerful giving thanks can be. ( see more description below the video ) In this video, I read some scripture about how God has instructed us to give thanks in everything. And just how powerful and healing that can be when we are going through tragedies.
We have to take our focus off our problems and put our focus on our heavenly Father and in His goodness and faithfulness. And in doing so we will be at perfect peace. And we will have joy and true happiness that is not based on our circumstances. We have to look more on what we still have and not what we have lost due to our tragedies. The amazing young lady and her family I referred to in the video is the Jen Barrick family. Their ministry is called Hope out Loud. https://hopeoutloud.com/ The Barrick Family have been such an inspiration to me since our loss. I love their testimony and story that has come from the terrible accident. Beautiful to see what God can do with a life that is surrendered to Him. You can view their story here. http://hopeoutloud.com/our-story/ Please feel free to connect here with me on my blog. In Him, Mae
Welcome to my # 3rd in the Hope from the Cemetery with Mae, summer 2020 series. In this one I talk about the story of Joseph in the Bible and how, despite the fact, that many things were going against him for so long, it was all part of the plan and purpose that God had on his life. it's a beautiful story. And I believe God is using our tragedies in the same way. He is working out something beautiful. Just keep trusting, keep praying, keep praising, and keep believing. He is working it out!! In Him, mae Hey there and welcome to this week's video! ( Well there will be 2 videos I'm sharing this week because I did the video last week but didn't share it here. ) In this video I'm talking about forgiveness -- God's forgiveness to us and our forgiveness to others. Forgiveness is vital in our walk and relationship with God, and for salvation. God says He will not forgive us our sins if we don't forgive others there trespasses against us. I give 2 perfect examples of forgiveness in the Bible as well as the amazing story of forgiveness of Corrie ten Boon. May you be blessed and encouraged as you realized what exactly it is Christ did for you and I on the cross and the great depth of love that that required. And may you and I forgive like He did no matter how hard it may be. In Him, Mae ( P.S. as always I love hearing from you! ) Here is the link to the article where I read the story of Corrie ten Boon.
Guideposts Classics: Corrie ten Boom on ForgivenessIn this story from November 1972, the author of The Hiding Place recalls forgiving a guard at the concentration camp where her sister died. https://www.guideposts.org/better-living/positive-living/guideposts-classics-corrie-ten-boom-on-forgiveness Welcome to part 4 of, Is it God you want or just Heaven? Do you really Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind? And have you made Him the Lord of your Life? Or do you want to be the one in control? Have you gave him your whole being or just a part of you? I know this is an area that many of us may struggle with. So you are not alone. But I want you to know that He wants all of you. God loves you with a crazy passionate love. He wants to come dwell and make His abode in you. And it is really is all or none. Either your all in or your not in at all. So please ask yourself this question and analyze your life if it's God you really want or just heaven. And then make those changes you need to make as you fully surrender your will for His and make Him the Lord of your life. You will not regret it - in both this life and and the in the next- I promise! In Him, Mae Please contact me with any questions or if you need some encouragement right now in the season you are in. That's what I'm here for. Don't miss parts 1, 2, & 3 of this message.
Being thankful will cure resentfulness - even when things are not just as we would like Do you find your self being just a bit resentful about now due to everything going on with this social distancing stuff? Do you wish life would get back to normal already? I know I do. In this video, I talk about how being thankful in all things as God has instructed us to be is the cure to helping us not be resentful of changes in our lives right now due to COVID-19. I also talk about making the most of our time and finding new, creative and productive things to do with our extra time if we have any spare time. Our time is a gift from God. So we need to be good stewards of it. In Him, Mae p.s. Here is the link to my children's new YouTube show on the subject of faith. https://youtu.be/PmZW6vMGRAo Welcome to the first part of this series! ( For parts 2 & 3 just scroll down ) Do you really want God in your life and in your everyday? Do you really want to live a life fully surrendered to God and His Will? Do you really love God or with all your heart, soul, and being, or do you just want heaven? If you're not willing to go all-in and all out for God, then you may not be in at all. Welcome to parts 2 & 3 of, Do you really want God or just heaven? In these videos, I cover some really great verses on what it really means to truly seek God with our whole being and honor Him in everything we do. We are to prove all things and hold to that which is the good and perfect will of God, not excusing or justifying whatever we want to do. Jesus said not everyone who says," Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but those that do the will of my Father." If we truly love Him we will obey Him. May we examine our hearts and lives to see if it's God we truly seek after and desire or just heaven. Is it God really we seek, desire, and Love and want with all our hearts, or is it just heaven? Jesus said if you love me, keep my commandments. This is a heart check to see if we truly love and know God. The Bible says this is how we know we know Him if we love Him and keep his comments. If you have any comments or questions for me just drop me a note in the comments and I will try to answer as soon as I can. In Him, Mae
Hi from my home to yours! I just wanted to share some scripture with you today that I find so encouraging, and something I think we could all benefit from right now. God has commanded us to be strong and courageous! Joshua 1:9 We are not to be timid or fearful. But strong, bold, and walking confidently walking in the power and grace of God! He didn't give us a spirit of fear but a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1;7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. KJV For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. NIV And Jesus said greater is He in us than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. NIV You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. KJV May you be encouraged by this little video. And may you be strong and courageous and confident in who we are in Him today and every day! To connect with me you can leave a comment here on my website/blog . I would love to hear from you and be a support and encouragement to you in your walk with God, or in your mothering, or if you are going through grief right now that seems unbearable. There is lots going on out in the world right now with this Covid-19 thing going on and many things in our lives affected and changed by it in different ways. And if we stay focused on all the news surrounding it, as well as people's speculations about the virus and their predictions about the future can make a person pretty unsettled and a little bit fearful. But when we keep our minds on God and placed our trust securely in Him He will keep us in perfect peace.
Hi there, It has been a while since I did a video blog post. This one is an update of what I've been up to lately, and what's been going on in my little world with this Covid-19 thing going on. Lots of crazy stuff going on due to it. And I give encouragement for you for whatever is going on in your life and home. I give Bible verses about God's peace and provision. I mention how the Bible talks about tribulation and pestilence in the end times. And verses about the hope we have in Christ. I hope you find it encouraging at this time. Here is the video for my speaking event in Manning, Alberta on March 5th, 2020. The first one of this nature. I feel it went very well, and even though we didn't have very many come out, the ones that did come were really touched by the message and really enjoyed it. I knew most of them there and that helped put me at ease and made me very comfortable and confident behind the mic. And now I am all geared up and excited for the next event on March 24th, 2020. SO if you are in the area and didn't make it to my first event you will want to plan to make for this one. It's going to be a great evening of encouragement and inspiration! Maybe you are facing circumstances that seem unfair, or a loss that seems unbearable. We are going to focus on the goodness of God and the hope and peace that comes from a deep faith and trust in Him. And how God uses the bad things that happened to us for our good and His glory. In Him, Mae Here is part 2 of my video series, There is still Hope for Your Dreams. I Don't know your story, I don't know what you are going through. Nor what dreams may be laying shattered at your feet right now because of what has happened your life. But I know my God! And He is a faithful God, who loves you more than words can ever express. And He wants you to know there is still hope for your dreams! God restores shattered dreams and heals broken hearts. And He was great plans for your life to put to use the things that happened in your life for your good and His glory. In Him, Mae I Don't know your story, I don't know what you are going through. God can turn every bad thing around for our good and for His glory. In Him, Mae Renfroe Author, Life Coach, & aspiring speaker

Hey there, it's been a while since we've done a podcast episode due to the busyness of preparing for Mae's speaking events planned for March 5th, 24th, 2020. So it this episode we talk about that. The girls share a special song at the end of the podcast that they will be singing at our event.
I also encourage you to step out and do what God has placed on your heart and in your life not being held back by fear. And when you make that courageous step and share your testimony and your message it is limitless what God will with it. We are commanded to talk about His goodness and faithfulness in our lives. Just do your best and let God handle the rest!! And see Him to the work that only He can do. His Word does not go out void!! Praise the Lord! If you are in our area and want to attend please see my events page here on my blog and website for all the details. In Him, Mae Hey there my blog readers! Here i come with another video blog post! It's been awhile I know. And awhile since I've did a written post too, but I have been so busy! One of the things keeping me busy is my speaking events I have planned for March which I talk about in the video. I am so excited about the opportunity to share my story loss and hope so that I can be a blessing to those in my community. Also I talk about the importance of going all in and all out for God. And that looking foolish is really not foolish at all. I also talk about are we wanting heaven more than we want God? Many people want heaven, but not really want God Himself and what living life fully surrendered to Him comes with. I also ask the question, "Are you saying yes to the things you should be saying no to and saying no to the things we should be saying yes to." Too often we can keep our selves so busy doing things that are not necessary and then we say no to the very things God wants us to do. I hope you find this encouraging and inspiring to go deeper, stronger, and all in and all out for God! Mae Renfroe We have had 3 deaths in our family in less than 3 years, (our 14 year-old son on April 19th, 2017, my Dad on Oct. 6, 2018, and my brother Lee on Dec.22, 2019) , so death and dying has been on our minds a lot lately. I have looked up verses on this subject, and found 25 comforting verses about death and those dying in Christ, and have them listed here. My daughters and I will be doing a podcast on this as well in the near future. May you find these verses comforting and encouraging. Mae Renfroe Comforting Bible Verses about Death for Those Dying in Christ
Copied from this link below https://www.kevinhalloran.net/comforting-bible-verses-about-death-and-dying-in-christ/ Romans 8:38-39 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:51-57 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 1 Corinthians 2:9 What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him. Revelation 1:17-18 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.” Revelation 14:1 And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!” Romans 14:7-9 For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. Philippians 1:21-23 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. James 1:12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 2 Corinthians 5:6-9 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words. 1 Peter 1:23-25 …You have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; for “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever.” Job 1:21 And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.” Comforting Bible Verses about Death from the Psalms Psalm 16:8-11 I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption. You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 34:4-5 I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. Psalm 46:1-2 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea. Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. Psalm 73:25-26 Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. Psalm 149:6 For the LORD takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation. |
