Sabbath-Sunday?

I am going to start with the creation of Sabbath, and take you right through the Bible. I am sure there has been Sabbath tracks written before, but I haven't found them, so I decided to write one.

Gen. 1:1-31 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth and everything that is there in, finishing his work on the sixth day. Then on the seventh day He rested from all His works that He had made. “And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it.” - Genesis 2:3

Exodus 16:1-.The children of israel were tested on the keeping of the Sabbath when the manna was dropped down by God for food. While they were in the wilderness before the commandments were given.

Exodus 20:1-17 God gave the 10 commandments to Moses on Mount Sinai, and the fourth commandment was, “to keep the Sabbath”. He said: “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. “Remember” because it was with them from the beginning, the last day of creation.
Exodus: 31:18. God wrote the 10 commandments with His own finger, on 2 tablets of stone.
Deuteronomy 10:1-5 God instructed Moses to make an ark of wood in which to put and keep the tables of stone.
Exodus 21. The other laws that God gave Moses, after the 10, he called “judgments”.
Deuteronomy 31:24-26. Note: after Moses finished writing the judgment laws in a book, he instructed the Levites to put the book of the law in “the side” of the ark of covenant. The laws were kept separate.
Exodus 20. When the 10 commandments were given, the people “heard and saw” the thunderings and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking. “What a beautiful way God expressed the importance of His laws to His people.”

Matthew 5:17-19. In Matthew of the new testament when Jesus gave the sermon on the mount it reads: “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy but to fulfill. “For verily I say unto you, “Till the heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” Heaven and earth is still here, and so is the 10 commandments, which includes the seventh day Sabbath.

Hebrews 3 and 4 explains the spiritual rest that those who believe enter into. Hebrews 4:4 speaks of the seventh day. And Hebrews 4:8-9 says: “For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.”

Hebrews 8-10 Tells of the new covenant God made after Christ’s resurrection. Hebrews 10:16 says: “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them.”

Jesus summarized His Father's law into two parts. The first commandment, is in reference to God, covering the first four commandments. The second, is in reference to mankind, covering the last six commandments. “On these 2 commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

Matthew 22:37-40. Jesus was asked, “Which is the greatest commandment of the law?”. Jesus replied, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy mind. (literally with all our being) This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two hang all the law and the prophets.”

When we summarize those 2, we come up with, one word,
“LOVE”.
“God is love” 1 John 4:16.
“That's who He is, and that is what He wants from us, “our love and obedience”. “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15

John 14:1-31. “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” John 14:21

“If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.” John 14:23
John 15:10 “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.”
John 15:12 “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.”
1 John 2:3-6 “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”
1 John 5:2-3 “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”

James 1:22,25 “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” Notice: “Perfect law of liberty.” (Being complete, lacking nothing, and liberty=freedom.) Isn't that beautiful, when we obey the law because we love God and desire to please Him, its “freedom and pure joy”.

In James 2:8 it’s called the “royal law”. “If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well.”
“But whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. 11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.”
James 2:8,10-12

James 2:14-26. These scriptures talk about “faith without works”, is dead being alone.
“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” James 2:26
Romans 3:31 “Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.”

To conclude:
“God is love”, and it is the unmeasurable love of our Heavenly Father, that “sanctified the Sabbath day” at creation, and put it with the 10 commandments on Mount Sinai for us. And it is that same unmeasurable love, that longs for “our love and obedience” for Him today.
“If you love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15

“Praise be to our Heavenly Father for sending His precious son Jesus to die for our sins on Calvary. And praise be to Jesus, for making the ultimate sacrifice.”
