Being Rooted in Christ

This blog post is both in written and video form. I am just getting use to doing video blog posts so not as comfortable at it as I could be. But as they say practice makes perfect! :) Enjoy! And be encouraged!

We need to be firmly rooted in Christ so we are ready for what ever comes our way.

In our selves we can never prepare or be ready for a tragedy. For instance nothing we could do would ever make us ready or prepare us to experience the loss a child. Nothing.

Only being firmly rooted in Christ can we do that. Being constant in God's Word.  Having a close prayer life, ect... can prepare and equip us and keep us strong when our world falls apart and tragedies strike.

Like the lyrics of the song The Solid Rock.
( Here is a portion of the lyrics below )

My hope is build on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus' name.
...Every high and stormy gale
my anchor holds within the veil.
On Christ, the soild rock, I stand
All other ground is skinking sand...
His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood
When all around my soul gives way
He then is all my Hope and Stay.
Hold me in, I'm leaning on Jesus
All other ground is sinking sand
'Cause on a rock, I stand.

Yes, Christ is our solid rock, and in Him we can stand! But outside of Him we will surely fall.
In Him, and Him alone, we can weather the storms of life. Through Him, in Him, and because of Him ,whatever happens or comes our way in life, we are ready!!
As Psalms 112:7 -8 says, "He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established. He shall not be afraid....
And what I love about those verses is what they say when you personalize them.

I shall not be afraid of evil tidings; my heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. My heart is established. I shall not be afraid....
Wow, that is powerful stuff isn't!!
I will close with the verses from Isaiah.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: Because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength. Isaiah 26:3-4.

 And verses from Isaiah 43:1-7.

1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;
7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

Beautiful, beautiful verses of God being with us and for us in the midst of our deep sorrows and troubles, and enabling us to keep strong and to keep going. Only in God!

 In Him, Mae

Here is the latest tract I just had printed. I lookforwrd to having this handy resourse to pass out along witht the first gosple tract I had made. This one is like a follow up to the the first one.
And I am praying it will be a helpful tool for the new beliver to get them a good start on thier new and exciting journey!!
Here is the message inside the tract.

So you have made the big step and you're now a child of God! Congratulations! You have a great new life ahead of you!
And whether you use the term: gave your heart to the Lord; accepted God as your personal saviour; gave your life to the Lord; or decided to follow Jesus, they all mean the same.
But what exactly does it mean and where do you go from here?
Being a child of God is being transformed and living a Christ like life. It is putting off of the old man and becoming a new creature in Christ. ( Ephesians 4: 22-25, 2 Cron. 5:17 ) It’s loving God, and keeping and obeying His commandments. ( John 14:15, 1 John 2:3-5) It is seeking first the kingdom of God. ( Matt. 6: 33) It’s denying the fleshing and living for Christ. ( Titus 2 : 12-14 ) It is letting your light shine, and sharing the gospel with others.( Matt. 5: 14-16, Matt 28: 19 -20 ) It is about being doers of the His Word, and not just hearers. ( James 1:22 -25 )

Getting in to God’s Word.
To live out your new life for Christ you will need get into God’s Word. Set aside a special time each day to read, pray, and put bible verses to memory. The time spend in God’s Word is very vital for your spiritual growth and strength. Also finding fellow believers to help support and encourage you in your new walk. It doesn’t have to be a church, just connect with fellow believers in your workplace, in your neighborhood, online, ect…
If the Bible is  new to you, the New Testament is the best place to start reading. You could start with the first of the  four gospels, Matthew, Mark Luke, and John. The gospel of John,as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John are excellent books for a new believer. They are very easy to read and understand.

We would love to hear from you.
If you’ve just gave your heart to the Lord and are a new believer we are very happy for you, and we would love to hear from you. As well as encourage and support you in your new walk.  And these verese are on the back of the tract.

( All verses are from KJV )
Ephesians 4:22-25  That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
1 John 2: 3-5   And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.  He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Titus 2:12 -14 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;  Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;  Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Matthew 5 :14 -16   Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 28: 19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
James 1: 22-25   But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.  For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:  For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

It’s not God’s will that any should perish, but that all should have eternal life.

I have just recently written a gospel tract.
Here is a couple photos of the stack of 100 that we ordered. And I am so excited about it! I look forward to passing these out when we are out places, and in our travelings. I am glad to be able to bring the gospel message to someone who is maybe going through a difficult thing or season in life and who really needs to hear the message of hope. Hope, that only Christ can give us.

It’s not God’s will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. -- adapted from 2 Peter 3:8-10
Picture
Here is the message inside the tract.

Hi, we are the Renfroe family. I want to tell you a bit about us, how  I came to be inspired to write this track, and my desire to share the good news with everyone God puts in our path.
We are blessed with eight wonderful children. Though we lost our second oldest son Clayton, on April 19, 2017, in a tragic quad accident. He was healthy, happy, full of life, and just 2 months short of celebrating his 15th B-day. And then in an instant he was gone. That has been very hard on our family, but God has been so good to us. He has kept us going giving us strength, joy, and hope in our sorrows.
We grief certainly, but not without hope. ( 1 Thess. 4 : 13- 14 ) We have hope and assurance through Christ that  one day we will meet again in heaven. That is what gives us peace and comfort. That is our hope. And that hope is what I want to share with you. Maybe you have lost a child or loved one as we have, or you are walking some other difficult road. I want you to know God sees your sorrow and your pain, and that He loves and cares for you, and has a great plan for you.
If you have not accepted the Lord as your personal savior yet, please don't put it off. We never know how much longer this life will give us. And as our family knows first hand, life can sometimes be cut suddenly short. But if we are ready to meet the Lord, then death is not something to fear. We are simply passing form this life, our temporary home; to our next life, our forever home. And that is the reassurance that we have as Clayton’s parents, that he is now safely in his forever home with the Lord and waiting eagerly for us to arrive.

God loves you so much that He does not want you to die without knowing Him. It is His desire that none should perish, but that all should come to repentance and have eternal life. ( 2 Peter 3:9 ) In John 3:16 we read, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” No matter how good we are, “We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God.” ( Romans 3:23) And the wages of sin is death. ( Romans 6:23 ) But we have a rescuer….. His name is Jesus. And no sin we have done is too great from Him to redeem us from. ( 1 John 8-9 )

Just come as you are.  For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. ( Romans 10:9-11 ) And once you are saved Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15) That is how we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. ( 1 John 2:3-4)
If you are reading this, you're still alive. And God has a plan and a purpose for you! He wants to be your Father and He is calling you to be His child. And he wants you to have eternal life.Call on Him today and He will hear you.
