Been awhile since I had time to post on here. Summers are so busy anyway, and then our internet was out for about 2 weeks awhile back as well.
Also about that time I was out at our local Bible Camp helping in the kitchen for a few days. That was so fun. Nathan is out there on staff this summer, and my girls were campers that week in the 8to 10 age group, and I brought along Benjamin, Daniel, and Rebecca with me. We stayed in nice room all to our selves that even had an in door bathroom!! Anyway that was great time for me. To get to help cook and chat with the other ladies, to see my son in his role of cabin leader, and my girls enjoying their camp. Now I look forward to helping out their on August 1st-3rd during the age 6 to 8 age group when Benjamin will be a camper. He is not so sure about it though. I am trying to convince him, because I am really looking forward to getting to help out there. Nathan would be his cabin leader. But if he does not want to stay in Nathan's cabin though, he could stay with me at night and then just join Nathan's group for the day. There is so many fun things they do, besides chapel time. Oh, also I was out to camp 2 different times, once during the senior high week and once last week during the Jr. High week, to share a message. For Jr. High I had my slide show ready of photos of Clayton out at 6 summers camps as well s photos around here. That was really meaningful to me to get to share about our son Clayton who many of them knew out there since he was a camper for all those years, plus other friends he knew. And to share the message God put on my heart about the fragility of life, as well as how we, as his parents, still have joy and hope through our great sorrow. I could share that message here in a blog post in fact. That would be a good idea. Other busy summer things going on is berries to pick and our peas. Fortunately looks like the beans will be awhile yet. But we have been picking strawberries, raspberries, now saskatoons, and soon Blueberries. Plus just keeping our garden weeded. I don't like weeds at all, so that is a very constant job. We butchered most of our chickens earlier that we raise for meat. We just have a few left of anther breed that are smaller, and then our turkeys later on. We have been milking one of our cows now since early April. Nice to have all the milk and cream we can use, but that does keep us tied down morning and evening. Good things come with a cost huh? We also a goat with young ones that Sam was milking, but he has stopped now. Our laying hens are now laying to well right now, or at least we can't find the eggs. I think they lay every where but the chicken house. I keep having the children look for nests, but they have no luck. These hens love to set, we have had a few set and hatch eggs. So yes, a busy summer. And for that reason I have not been able to share on here as much as I wanted to. But I will as I can. The Lord is holding me up, and I always have so much on my mind and heart of His greatness to us. And I am so thankful for so many things!!! What ever your going through right now, please remember God loves you, He has a plan for you, and He is with you, and for you!! And there is nothing to big that He can not handle nor to small that He does not care! In Him, Mae
