In this video, I read the story in the Bible about the boy that gave his lunch to Jesus to feed the hungry crowed. Jesus took the 2 fish and five loaves and blessed it and fed the crowd of over 5,000. What I point out is that it was not necessary for the boy to have had enough food for everybody, but it was only necessary to give what he had. An Jesus did the rest! Too often we focus on what we don't have and what we can't do and in doing so that holds us back from doing anything. All God asks is that we give what we do have. Focus on what we do have. Even if what we have seems too meager, not enough, not good enough, etc..... Just give it. God will bless it for His glory. So what is in your hands? What do you have that you can give to God for His use? Maybe it's your resources, your time, your spare room, your interests, your talents, your story, your testimony.your money? Like the two fish and the 5 loaves, God will take your offering and bless it and it will do more with it than you ever would have could have imagined. Because with God all things are possible. God does not ask for our ability, but our availability. We serve a God of the impossible! In this video from the cemetery I talk about the importance of letting yourself grieve after loss, and not holding it in and trying to be too strong to soon. I share my experience after the loss of our 14 year old son, and how I didn't just allow the tears to flow. That process of Grieving is so important in our healing and moving forward after loss. I share comforting Bible verses that display God's great love and compassion for us, and how He is there for the broken hearted and He wants to heal and mend our broken hearts. There is a hope and purpose for the difficult things we go through in life. God wants us to get back up and keep on going. But we don't do that on our own strength but on His and He doesn't expect us to. To connect with me, or to ask about my grief coaching and support please visit my website and blog. In this episode I add to my series I'm covering in Be That Mom.
Be that mom - that disciplines her children with love and patience. I talk about the mistakes I made in my early parenting years and what to watch out for and avoid. I talk about the 4 styles of parenting and which one is the ideal one and which produces the outcome in our children that we all want and that is best for them as they grow to follow after God and that will enable them to be well balanced and secure children. Here is the link to the article I read about the 4 styles of parenting here on this episode of the podcast. https://www.verywellfamily.com/types-of-parenting-styles-1095045. The book I referred to on this episode is called, If Jesus Were a Parent, by Hal Perkins. This book was not personally recommended me but was recommended to moms in general on a large-family Facebook group I am on. Thanks for listening and stay tuned for more.
