Hey there, and welcome to this video! In this one I talk about my usual for this time of year. The traditions of Christmas, where they originated from, and why we should care, what God's Word has to say, and why it all matters. If you've never heard before that Christmas contains a lot of pagan origins surrounding the traditions, I understand you would find this upsetting and maybe even shocking. So please hear me out in the video and do your own research too. For my video series I mentioned on here that I did this time last year just look for the video series or playlist Desiring Truth. Please feel free to connect with me and to contact me please visit my website and blog. I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Mae Renfroe

# 4 Desiring Truth video - What day was Jesus really resurrected on? The truth may surprise you.12/27/2020 Jesus himself said he would be in heart of the earth 3 days and nights. So what's is up with the popular belief and teaching of a crucifixion Friday and resurrection Sunday? Something is not adding up here. What's the truth on this? And does the truth even matter? Watch this video as I shed some much needed light on this subject. In Him, Mae ( see my notes for this video below. ) The Resurrection.
Three days and 3 nights. Welcome to # 4 of the Desiring truth series. In this one we are will be uncovering the myth of the common belief and teaching of the Friday crucifixion and Sunday morning resurrection. And reveal the truth. Jesus said He would be in the heart of the earth 3 days and 3 nights, did Jesus lie to us? Or is there a lie in the teachings of this? And we are missing out on something in the Bible? Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. Matthew 12:38-42 KJV So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging. Then the men feared the Lord exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the Lord , and made vows. Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. Jonah 1:15-17 KJV High sabbath When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. John 19:30-31 KJV In the NIV version it is called special sabbath. Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down. John 19:31 NIV What is the "high-day Sabbath" mentioned in this verse? Is it the same as a weekly Sabbath? The answer is no. A high day is technically an annual holy day, or annual Sabbath, as commanded in Leviticus 23. The annual Sabbaths are seven: the first and seventh days of Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah in Hebrew), Atonement (Yom Kippur), the first day of Tabernacles (Succoth), and the Last Great Day. The first three occur in the spring, and the last four in the fall. Thus, the high day of which John was speaking was one of the three spring holy days, and since Jesus crucifixion took place on the day of Passover (Nisan 14 on the Hebrew calendar), the high day of which he speaks must be the first day of Unleavened Bread, which falls the day after the Passover (Nisan 15). What we have to establish is when he would have rose from the grave. And then count back from that 3 days and 3 nights and we can then see when he was crusified and hurried. It says He was risen already when they came Sunday morning. Since he was buried in the evening we can know to make 3 days and 3 nights He would have risen in the evening and not morning. So that would have Sabbath even. Count back 3 days and 3 nights from that and you have Wednesday evening. Wednesday evening would have been the preparation day for the high sabbath which fell on a Thursday that week. Wednesday night, Thursday -day, Thursday night, Friday day, Friday night, sabbath day, and sabbath evening Jesus would have risen from the grave in full victory!! They came Sunday morning and He was no longer in the grave!! Why is this so important to know? Because God is the God of truth. We are to be not only lovers of God but lovers of truth. And many people hinge their belief of keeping Sunday versus Sabbath based on this false teaching of a resurrection Sunday. They say Sunday is the Lord’s day and is the day they rest and worship on because it was the day he rose, but that is not even the day. It's said Sunday is the lord's day because it's believed Sunday to be that day He rose, plus of the reference to the Lord's day in revelation. The only verses that mentions Lord's day. I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Revelation 1:10 KJV God can't lie. That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Hebrews 6:18 KJV Having a love for truth and the spirit of truth. It's so important and an urgency to dig into the truth. And we need to have a desire to search out and now the truth. An urgency, because if not now, when? The time is running out. The time for truth is now. The bible says to worship God in spirit and in truth. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:21-24 KJV We are to not only be lovers of God but lovers of truth. Because is the God truth. he does not lie. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. John 14:15-17 KJV Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Timothy 3:7 KJV He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Psalms 91:4 KJV The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. Psalms 145:17-19 KJV Hi, and welcome to # 3 in this series of Desiring Truth. In this series, we have now established that the 10 commandments are still intact for us today, all 10 of them. In this one, we look at scripture concerning the seventh-day Sabbath. I share some scripture on it. I also cover as well as things that people tend to say concerning the seventh-day Sabbath and the commandments in general. I also mention apostle Paul's teachings and how many times they seem to be misused and misunderstood or taken over Jesus' words. We have to take what the whole Bible says on a subject not just a few selected and missed used verses here and there. For more of my writings on the Sabbath and the 10 commandments please check the articles here and on pervious blog posts on my website. Mae Renfroe See the verses below that I refer to in the video Hey and welcome to part 2 of my series about the 10 commandments, the sabbath, the resurrection day, which I'm calling Desiring Truth series.
So far I’ve done the introduction to this series and the first one on the 10 commandments. Now that we've established that the commandments still stand for today we can dig into the sabbath. We will cover scripture, and things that i have heard people commonly say about the sabbath and the misconceptions concerning it, and commandments in general. Paul’s teachings versus Jesus? They are often taken out of context and miss used. And then accepted over Jesus’ words. If people truly believe that Paul is saying something different from Jesus then they need to go with Jesus’ words, not pauls. Now that we have established the fact the 10 commandments still stand us for today we will look into what that means for the 4th commandment about keeping of the 7th-day sabbath. In the beginning, God knew what we needed when He gave us a sabbath. Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. Genesis 2:1-3 KJV Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. Genesis 2:1-3 NIV Tested with the manna. He said to them, “This is what the Lord commanded: ‘Tomorrow is to be a day of sabbath rest, a holy sabbath to the Lord . So bake what you want to bake and boil what you want to boil. Save whatever is left and keep it until morning.’ ” So they saved it until morning, as Moses commanded, and it did not stink or get maggots in it. “Eat it today,” Moses said, “because today is a sabbath to the Lord . You will not find any of it on the ground today. Six days you are to gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will not be any.” Nevertheless, some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather it, but they found none. Then the Lord said to Moses, “How long will you refuse to keep my commands and my instructions? Bear in mind that the Lord has given you the Sabbath; that is why on the sixth day he gives you bread for two days. Everyone is to stay where they are on the seventh day; no one is to go out.” So the people rested on the seventh day. Exodus 16:23-30 NIV The 10 commandments. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8-11 KJV God's words about the Sabbath in Isiaha. If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord , honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord ; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. Isaiah 58:13-14 KJV 7th day Sabbath mentioned in Hebrews. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Hebrews 4:4-10 KJV And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. 1 John 2:3-6 KJV Obedience is better than sacrifice. 1 samuel 15 20 And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the Lord, and have gone the way which the Lord sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. 21 But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in Gilgal. 22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king. 24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. 25 Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the Lord. 1 samuel 15: 20-25 Rejecting the commandments mark 7 4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables. 5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands? 6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. 9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. Mark 7:4-9 Meeting on Sunday 3 times and sabbath 7 or more times in acts. Acts 20:7 Now con7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. 1 corinthians16: 1-2 concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. 2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. Link to places referring to them meeting on sabbath in new testament. http://www.eliyah.com/85times.html Sunday is called the Lord’s day and that it is the day they keep because He rose from the grave on Sunday, but that is not the truth. Revelation is the only place that mentions the Lord’s day. I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Revelation 1:10 KJV Lord of the Sabbath. And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. Mark 2:27-28 KJV And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. 1 John 2:3-6 KJV They say Sunday is the Lord’s day and is the day they rest and worship on because it was the day he rose, but that is not even the day Jesus Hey there! Here is the second video in this little series I'm currently doing. I think I will call it the Desiring Truth Series. In this one I talk about the 10 commandments and the two common believes that I have came across. Either people tend to believe the 10 commandments are done away with and are no longer for us today, or that they are for us, but that the 4th commandment has been changed. So come along and join me as dig into scripture to reveal that the commandments were not destroyed and are very much for us yet today - all 10 of them! And if you enjoy this please pass it along. I want this very important and much overlooked truth to get out to as many as possible. In Him, Mae p.s Stayed tuned for the for my next video in the Desiring Truth series on Sabbath coming out soon. Below is the verses I either read on the video or referred to. Deuteronomy 5:29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!
Deuteronomy 30: 10 If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. 1 John 2:3-6 KJV The 10 commandments are not destroyed Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Matthew 5:17-22 KJV “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. John 15:9-14 NIV “If you love me, keep my commands. John 14:15 NIV But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 22:34-40 KJV Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. Revelation 14:12-13 KJV 4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 1 John 3:4-5 Broke the everlasting covenant. The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left. Isaiah 24:4-6 KJV Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates: That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth. For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him; Deuteronomy 11:18-22 KJV If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul. Deuteronomy 30:10 KJV And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them: And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them. But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: Welcome to this week's video and the introduction to my series on the Sabbath, the 10 commandments, and the resurrection. I'll call it my Desiring Truth series I love this verse here. If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. John 14:15-17 KJV I pray that you will have a desire and heart for the truth. I and pray this will nudge you to dig deeper into the Bible and into God's wonderful truth. Stay tuned for the upcoming videos on these topics and in the meantime, I encourage you to start doing your own searching on this. God says His spirit will lead us into all truth. In Him, Mae Renfroe ![]() Welcome to the first part of this series! ( For parts 2 & 3 just scroll down ) Do you really want God in your life and in your everyday? Do you really want to live a life fully surrendered to God and His Will? Do you really love God or with all your heart, soul, and being, or do you just want heaven? If you're not willing to go all-in and all out for God, then you may not be in at all. Welcome to parts 2 & 3 of, Do you really want God or just heaven? In these videos, I cover some really great verses on what it really means to truly seek God with our whole being and honor Him in everything we do. We are to prove all things and hold to that which is the good and perfect will of God, not excusing or justifying whatever we want to do. Jesus said not everyone who says," Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but those that do the will of my Father." If we truly love Him we will obey Him. May we examine our hearts and lives to see if it's God we truly seek after and desire or just heaven. Is it God really we seek, desire, and Love and want with all our hearts, or is it just heaven? Jesus said if you love me, keep my commandments. This is a heart check to see if we truly love and know God. The Bible says this is how we know we know Him if we love Him and keep his comments. If you have any comments or questions for me just drop me a note in the comments and I will try to answer as soon as I can. In Him, Mae
![]() Hey you all, Here is a newsy video blog post about what I'm up to right now, and God has been teaching me. I feeling like He has been teaching me just to be myself, and not to strive to be someone else, to speak as they speak etc... But really be who He created me to be ad do what He created me to do. We are not here to fill someone else shoes, only our own. And not to be so striving for perfection that it holds us back from He has called us to do. But to do our best and let Him do the rest! May you be encouraged with that fellow sister, just relax and be you and let Him flow through you! And it will become not about us, but all about Him. Because it is no longer we that live but Christ that liveth in us! Amen! I also lightly talk about the 7th day Sabbath and how it is one of the 10 commandments and is still very much for us today. I just talk about it enough for you to be introduced to is and to whet your appetite to learn more. Seek God and His Word and truth. And since its the season I also mentioned Christmas and how we do not celebrate due to the fact it has so many pagan origins attached to it. All through scripture we can see the God did not like any pagan thing used in worship to Him. I highly encourage anyone who truly loves God and wants to please Him in every area of your life to look into this more in both scripture, and about the origins of almost all the traditions linked to Christmas. I only mentioned enough to get you started! May you always stay hungry for God and His truth! In Him, Mae The goodness of the 10 commandments. The role they play in our lives. And the big question, are they still for us today? These 10 beneficial laws were given by the Creator God to show us how to live a better life now and please God forever. God gave the 10 Commandments from Mount Sinai, accompanied by smoke, earthquakes and the blast of a trumpet to emphasize the importance of these laws. Moses recorded God’s words in Exodus 20 and recounted the event again in Deuteronomy 5. The 10 Commandments List in Exodus 20:2-17
The 10 commandments that God gave His people at MT. Sinia, and wrote with His very own finger, and now are written on our hearts ( Hebrews 10:16 -17 ), are very special and play a very important role for us today. But sadly there are so many misconceptions concerning them. The common modern believe you hear often is that the commandments are done away with. That could not be more false. The 10 Commandments are a guideline for us to live our lives by. And that is the only way we know sin. For sin is the transgression of the law. ( 1 John 3:4 ) They are God’s little set of rules on how He wants us to live, and It’s what sets His people apart from the world. If we threw out the 10 commandments and lived like the world, well, we would be just like the world then. We also know we woulnd’t get far in life breaking the laws of the land, and how much more respect and hounor should we have for the of laws God? All 10 of God’s commandments are still very much for us to keep today. Yes, even the 4th one about keeping the Sabbath day. There is great misconception just with that one alone. It is the common and popular belief that the 4th commandment was changed to Sunday in the New Testament. That belief is so contrary to scripture and couldn’t be further from the truth. None of the commandments were changed, as we can read in Jesus own words. Matthew 5:17-19 King James Version (KJV) 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. The keeping of the 7th Day Sabbath is so easy. But I think that is where many are willing to throw out all 10 commandments without question, yet bringing them all back except the 4th one, because they feel it is going under some ancient and impossible-to-keep law to keep the Sabbath. But keeping of the 7th Day Sabbath is just like most would do for Sunday. Sabbath is a day of rest and worship, and not a day do your normal work or shopping. That’s it, and that simple. Also there is a common belive that if you keep Sabbath instead of Sunday you are going under a law that Jesus set you free from because it was a burden. But the none of 10 commnadmnets are a burden and nothing to to be set free from. It is simpley the Christian way to live. I love Jesus words in these verses below. 1 John 5:3 (KJV) 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.John 14:15 (KJV) 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. If you would like to contact me to ask questions about anything I have written here, I would love to hear from you. My family and I have been keeping the Sabbath ever since I was little, so it has always been a part of my life. And I am always happy to be able to talk to others about it.
Keep serving Jesus with all of your heart, pleasing and honoring Him in everything! In Him, Mae Here is another video blog post form my home to yours! On this little video I am talking about the 7th day Sabbath. I have written sveral posts on Sabbath over the years. And just felt it would be good for me to do a video post on this subject. This way you can see and feel my love for God and for you as I talk about the Sabbath. The Sabbath is one of God' special truths and I love to share it here. You will feel my excitement about it as I talk! If the 7th day Sabbath is new to you, I hope that this video post be will helpful in intorducing it to you, and helping you to understand how 7th Day Sabbath is still for us today. Well I will just let you watch the video. :) May you be blessed by this message of this video. In Him, Mae NOTE: Just a couple things before you watch. In the video I said that the 7th Day was the only day God sanctified, but my husband let me know that was not correct. He said God sanctified the feast days as well. Also I believe I used the wrong word when I said that the severity of the Sabbath changed with Jesus. I should of said the strictness of it changed. Also note that I state that Jesus was resurrected in the evening of the 7th day or dawning towards the first day. Something I should have mentioned as well was that Jesus was buried on Wednesday evening as the Jews high Sabbath was approaching ( I do not know how often a high Sabbath falls, but for this week the Wednesday was the preparation day for the high Sabbath which was on Thursday, and then Friday was the preparation day for Sabbath ). So in all Jesus was in the ground 3 days and 3 nights until Sabbath evening. I know it is believed he was buried on a Friday evening and risen Sunday morning, but you can not get 3 days and and 3 nights out of that. (Read in the apostles around the time of his burial and resurrection.) And last I apologize for my little gals noisy chatter and her banging on the table. And in future videos I will have to learn to speak louder, and not repeat my self too much. My family and I are currently reading our way through the Old Testament. We are in the book of Numbers right now. It is so neat to read about God's people. And of the time when God led them through the wilderness on the way to the promise land, and how He took such great and loving care of them. But they unfortunately did't always obey Him. The one instance that we just read about last really stuck out at me.
You can read about that in Numbers 20: 7- 13. The people were very thirsty, and began to complain as they so often did, and were wising they were back in Egypt. So God told Moses, in verse 8, to take his rod, gather the people, and speak to the rock before the people and it should give forth water so that the whole congregation should drink and all the animals. So Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation before the rock. And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice, and the water came out abundantly and the people and the animals drank ( verse 11) . In verse 12 we read, "And the lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring the congregation into the land which I have given them." What may have seemed but a small thing to Mosses, striking the rock in stead of speaking to it. It wasn't. It was flat out disobedience. God clearly said to speak to it, and instead he struck it with his rod. We could argue that it shouldn't of made a difference, but it did. God said, and so that is the way it was to be done. After reading that area in Numbers I was reminded of a place later on in the book of first Samuel where again something was done just a little different than the instructions God had given. You can read that in first Samuel 15. Notice the strict instructions in verses 2 & 3. 2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. 3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. Go down to verse 9 and we read that Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good and, and would not utterly destroy them. Now read verses 10 & 11. 10 Then came the word of the Lord unto Samuel, saying, 11 It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the Lord all night. I will not put all those verses here, but please read verses 12 - 22. Samuel went to meet Saul. They have quite a discussion on what had transpired. In verse 18 Samuel tells Saul that God sent him ( Saul ) on a journey, and said 'Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.' Verse 19 Samuel says, 'Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the Lord, but didst fly upon the spoil, and did evil in the sight of the Lord?' Saul replies to that in verses 20 -21. Then Samuel concludes with this in the next 2 verses. What may have seemed like a minor thing to Saul, keeping the best of the animals for sacrifice. It was not, because God had spoken on how he wanted things done. God had given clear instructions, and Saul chose to do things his own way. Doesn't that sound exactly what people are doing with the 7th Day Sabbath when they take Sunday instead. God gave us the Sabbath day as a rest day way back in Genesis 2, verses 1-3. And then gave it as a command in the 10 commandments on Mount Sinai. Exodus 20 : 8-11, which is know as the fourth commandment. But people say, "Oh, it doesn't matter what day you rest and worship on as long as you take and honor a day to the Lord." Is that really what God said though? NO HE DIDN'T! And you can see from the example with Moses and Saul that what God said he meant and expected them to obey -- in the exact way he said to do it. What is worse? To strike the rock instead of speaking to it, or take another day for rest and worship instead of one God gave us? I know that it is said the Sabbath day was changed to Sunday after Jesus's resurrection, but it wasn't. Sure the apostles met on the first day of the week for different reasons ( breaking bread together & gathering the collection ), but it was not the new Sabbath. The apostles, just as we, would have no right to change one of the 10 commandments. And in Matthew 5: 17 to 20, we can read that Jesus didn't change any commandments either. None of the 10 commandments were done away with, before or after His resurrection. And so the seventh day Sabbath still stands. God said it, and so that is the way it is. We can be just as guilty as Mosses or Saul if we feel we have a better way or that our way is as just as good, but let us not forget obedience is better than sacrifice. ~ Keep on for God, doing what he says the way He says, even if you can't understand why! In Him, Mae 1 Samuel 15 : 22 Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. |
