The benefits of God - Mae Renfroe

You know how everyone loves to have a job with lots of great benefits? Well did you know that the benefits of God are much better and everlasting than any job here on earth could ever give.
I mean their benefits are great for sure, but let's check out the benefits of serving God.
They can't even begin to give us what God can give us. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
Psalm 103:2‭-‬6 KJV Peace, joy, forgiveness, redemption, comfort, provision, hope, salvation, mercy, loving kindness , healing, and so much more!
But let's not forget that in this world we will walk through trouble, trials, death of loved ones, and have tribulation, but in the midst of it in Him we still have hope and peace, and are surrounded by His presence.
We still have all His benefits and promises.
Though we must make the choice of abiding and dwelling in Him. Rest and trust. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
John 16:33 KJV Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength:
Isaiah 26:3‭-‬4 KJV The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; Psalm 103:8‭, ‬11‭-‬12‭, ‬17 KJV

Is there something you've been praying for, hoping for, and excitedly waiting for but it's just not coming about when you wanted, how you wanted, or not looking at all they way you thought it would?
Don't lose hope, hang in there, God's working it out in His timing and His way for His glory and your good!
His way doesn't always look the way we imagine it would.
And when we have to wait on things it builds character, strength, patience, perseverance and endurance.
So it's all good!!

Seeing God in the Little things/God divine appointments - video post

1/19/2022

Welcome to this week's video. I talk about the importance of looking for God in the little things in life.
Too often we can be looking for the big things and waiting on those answers for the big prayers we have been diligently praying, that we miss seeing God at work in the everyday.
I share two very amazing God divine appointments in my life recently and encourage you all to not overlook or downplay those little things. The little things often have just as much importance or impact as the big things and in some cases even more.

Want to hear from God? Talk to God and He will talk to you- podcast

12/4/2020

Fellow moms, God desires and longs to have a relationship with each one of us personally.  And when we Draw close to God He will draw close to us.
Come along and join me on this episode of the podcast as I dig into scripture about seeking God and how we can have a closer and more intimate relationship with Him and how we can hear from Him.
Please enjoy this episode of my podcast. May you be blessed and encouraged!
 In Him, Mae
( below is my notes and scripture that I used in this episode. )
  Want to Hear from God?
Talk to God and He will speak to you.

The Bible tells us to draw nigh to God and he will draw near to us. In James 4: 7-9
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. James 4: 7-9
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as [a]have a contrite spirit. Psalms 34:18
13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
.Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations,I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. Psalms 46: 10-11 KJV
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:   For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7‭-‬8 KJV

What we feed on the majority of the time is what will have the most impact and effect on us. Out of the issues the heart the mouth speaketh. Luke 6 :45

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good, and an evil man out of the evil [a]treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:45
Our time in the Word is very important, but we have to be careful what we put in our minds the rest of our time because it’s the other stuff that will have more effect on us.
God wants to speak to us, but he can’t if we are listing to other stuff. When we are dwelling on the things of the world we can’t hear Him. We just can't or we won't, because we listening to other voices and not taking heed to what His Word has told us. What is true about Him and what is true about us. We end up believing the lies of satan. If we allow that than to be louder in our lives than the truth that we know.
We got to get rid of all the other voices so we can hear His voice. The things we hear between morning and night need to be life-giving, Christian music, podcats, etc…. The more we seek God and the things of God the more we are filled by Him, and in tune with Him. Matthew 5:6, Mathew 7:7-8
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Matthew 5:6 KJv
Are we hungry and thirsty after God and righteousness?
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:   For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7‭-‬8 KJV
As I've often told my husband we can have as close a relationship with God as we want. We can either keep Him at arm's length or in His arms. It's really up to us and how much we are willing to surrender and invest in the relationship. Do we just want to have God when we get in a difficult time or do we want an ongoing communication with Him. Do we want Him to be the Lord of our lives? Do we want Him to fill every part of our lives and our every day.
The closer relationship the more spiritual insights God reveals to us and more He convicts us on things.
Seek God with all your heart. He is near to those of a contrite heart.
Be still, and know that I am
God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah Psalms 46:10 -11

It’s easy to feel at times that if we just had the right connections we could do certain things or go certain places that other people are able to do because of their connections or status, and even though that is mostly correct in the earthly realm of things. What we got to realize that if we are God’s child then we do have the connections we need. We are connected to the one who has all the connections. If we have God then we have a friend in a high place.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.   He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.   All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
John 16:13‭-‬15 KJV
https://bible.com

As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.  My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?  My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?  When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.  Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
Psalms 42:1‭-‬5 KJV
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33 KJV
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28:20 KJV
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Jeremiah 33:3 KJV
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.  Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength:
Isaiah 26:3‭-‬4

Answers to Prayer - don't always come when we want nor look the way we want them to - video blog post

11/15/2020

God hears us before we even speak a word, ( Psalms 139:4 - Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely. Isaiah 65:24- Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. )

So we can be assured that He hears our every prayer. And we can also be assured that He answers our every prayer too.

But what we need to realize is that He answers in His time, His way and His will. So the answers don’t always come when we want, how we want and don’t always look the way we want them to.

But He answers our prayers according to His will and what’s best for us for our good and for his glory.
And that is really what we want anyway. We just want Him in our lives and His will done in our lives.

I believe God answers every prayer in one of three ways. Yes. No. And not yet.

In this video I want to encourage you to not give up or get weary in prayer, and not lose hope.
But continue to seek the Father and His will and His heart. And seek and pray that your desires and heart longings are aligned with those of God’s.

Psalms 37:4 tells us that when we take delight in the LORD, he will give us the desires of your heart. But first and foremost God himself needs to be the desire of our hearts. God and His Will for our lives need to be the desire of our hearts.
And when we desire or love God with all our hearts, soul, and mind then hearts should be in the right place and we will be desiring the right things.

May you be blessed and encouraged with this post and video about prayer.

God always answers our prayers

3/11/2019

Yes, God always hears us, and answers all our prayers.
The problem is, we may not always like the answers.
Picture
It is okay for us to prayer for some things that we think is good. But we need to be ultimately seeking His will in the matter and not our own. So then when the answer doesn't come the way we had hoped for, we are still okay with it, because what we really wanted was His will. Our true desire and want, is to want what He wants for us.
A good thing when you are praying for a certain direction in your life, or for a certain door to open, is to pray that He would close every door you are not to walk through. And really seek and pray for His will in the matter and not your own. Rest, trust, and know He wants what best for us, and He can see that so much more clearly than we can. He can see the big picture and the future, unlike us who can only see the here and now.

Never under estimate the power of prayer and the power of God!
Prayers does wonders for us in so many ways. When we prayer for certain things, not only do we receive the answers, "Yes", "No", or "Wait", but we receive so much more than that as well.
When we fervently come to the Lord in prayer, regardless of the turmoil our minds, hearts, and spirits had just been in, our hearts are comforted, our anger melts away, our minds and our souls become peaceful, and fears and worries dissolve. It's beautiful and amazing!
Take everything to the Lord in prayer, no matter how great or how small it may be. He hears and He cares. And regardless of how small it may seem to you, if it's troubling you, you need to release it to the One who can take care of it for you.
~ Keep diligent in prayer. It works!
God is the answer to all our problems!

Being diligent & patient in prayer -  2 video blog posts week 4

1/24/2019

  Hi Ladies,
Welcome to week four video blog posts. I am coming with 2 for you this week!
 So exciting!
I had so much on my mind that I ended up with not one, but two videos!
( Underneath the videos you little find a brief discription of both. )
So enjoy, and may you be blessed, inspired, and challanged as you walk with God!
In Him, Mae

I did this video first, and it really needs to be watched in that order. In this one I am talking about the 4th commandent, the Seventh Day Sabbath.
I had lots on my mind to share and had not even ment to do a video on this subject, but it was so heavey on my mind and heart that I just had too.
May it speak to you in a way you never heard this subject talked about before. And may your heart be open to every truth of God.
After doing the first video and getting that message off my chest, I desiced to go ahead and do this one too.
In this video I encourage others to stay diligent and patient in prayer. I speak of the need to be very fervent in our prayers, and then patiently wait for God to answer - His way, His will, and His timing. Because thast's what we really want isn't it? As Proverbs say, a man devisieth His ways, but God directs His path.

God stops diarrhea! -& More answered prayers

Isn't it beautiful when we see answers to our prayers!!

Picture

Not all the time can we visually see our prayers being answered though, but when we have prayed for something specific and it comes into being it is so awesome and is a great thing to share with others.
I have a couple older answered prayers I wanted to share here as well as one very recently.
 The recent first.
As you may know  I am in the process of writing my fourth self published book, which I work on as I have time. I use the book wright program from blurb. Anyway my lap-top was not connecting to our internet for awhile, so my husband finally had to do some over-hauling on my lap-top. And when he was done some things were missing off my computer. Book wright was one of them! And no matter how I searched on my computer I did not find my book in progress. You can know I was very worried because if I lost the book there was no way I was starting again, I have no time for sure! So I went to God in prayer on this. My husband downloaded the book wright program again and opened it and there was my books!!! Praise the Lord!

Here is another answered prayer. A kind of funny one.
It was just a couple days before my husband was to fly up to Canada with our oldest son, Nathan, who would then be away all summer long. And I planed a trip to town with Nathan before he was to leave. I had only this one day to work with. And during the night I ended up with diarrhea. Like bad diarrhea. And I had an upset stomach too. I announced at breakfast that I didn't see how I could go. I didn't want to give us that easy, but I knew it wasn't wise for me to be going out in that condition.
I decided to lay down for a little nap and see if that would help. Getting up still feeling rough Paul said he would take Nathan instead. I agreed but didn't like that one bit. I was upset that  diarrhea would hold me back from this special day with my son! I was like, "No this will not happen". I am going go to God in prayer on this one! So I went in the bathroom on my knees and prayed that God would stop my diarrhea so that I could go and take Nathan to town. So I came out and announced that I prayed and that I was going. Mind you it took a lot of faith. I was being pretty brave. But I was determined. So off we went. I went to the bathroom as often as I could while in town. All went well. And we had a very good time. That afternoon when I got back, my diarrhea started up again and again all night long. Boy was it very obvious as well as very exciting to see what God did for me so that I could go and spend that day with Nathan before he left!!  Oh, how He loves me! Praise God for all His goodness!!

Here is a very special answer to prayer that occurred in the late winter/early spring of 2018.

In the early spring of 2017 I had been doing little meetings with the children once-in-awhile. And this particular meeting was caught on video by my younger son Ben. This one contained Clayton and was a complete riot because of him. He was loads of fun in our meeting! As you may know Clayton passed away in April 2017. So this little video holds a lot of memory for us, and is very, very special.
Well time went by and one of our little ones  played with the video camera one day. After that time we found certain videos had been deleted and in all appearance the one of our meeting was one of them. Gone. We could never get that back again. You know I was completely heart broken.
On different occasions we determinedly tried to look for it on there, but all with no luck. Finally once when we were talking about it, I got quite worked up about it. Sam said he was going to try once again to look for it. So I told him to wait that I wanted to go pray first. So off to my room I went and I cried out to the Lord that that seemingly deleted video with our son Clayton would reappear back on the video chip.  I come out and Sam, who also had been praying, turned  on video camera and scanned through the chip again. And guess what there was the missing video!! Praise God  who cares about these little things that we care about! Isn't He so good! So of course we lovingly devoured that video several times in a row.
Oh, how I love answered prayed like this!  Don't you?
Our God sees. He hears. He cares! Praise God He is good! ( And He can stop diarrhea! )

Quiet time with the Lord

2/23/2018

About 2 weeks ago I have started setting aside time every morning for a little quiet time with the Lord. I wake up about 7:00 a.m., and providing my one year old Rebecca is not awake and needing to nurse, I go straight to the couch. There I begin with prayer, and then get in to Bible. And I have been loving it!
I spend about a half hour in all. Then I hurry in to the kitchen to get breakfast for my crew, some of which is up by then. In fact sometimes my quiet time has been fairly noisy! Most of them stay in their rooms though when they first wake up. For instance my oldest is up by 6:00 and has his own reading time, and then starts school up in his room. And if his younger brother/roommate is awake he helps Ben start his school  as well. Sam wakes about 7 and starts school in his room too. And the girls usually sleep till I start breakfast. So more often than not I truly do have quite time.
Picture

I had heard of other wives and moms who have diligently done this, and they have found that time to be a blessing and a real strength in their spiritual life. But I never did this for my self though, at least not regularly at all. The children and I read the Bible or from their Bible curriculum  every morning before we start school. And I somehow felt that was good enough for my reading too. In the evenings we have either read again from the Bible or from a devotional, missionary story, or other good book.
But out side our family reading times I rarely  read my  on my own. It is not that I didn't want to, but I didn't really feel the necessity of it nor how I would find time for that.  Just recently though I had been inspired to have time with the Lord just for me,  quiet time to read and pray.
I have found it to be a real blessing for me. I look forward to this time each morning to get to dig in God's word and not feel rushed. I can read where ever. If there has been a certain subject on my mind, or a certain book of the Bible or chapter that I want to review more carefully, I can do that.
Sometimes I just skip around, reading some there and some there. Or just reading over my most favorite verses. I have all my favorite verses marked so they are easy to find. I just simply leaf through the Bible finding and reading them. What a comfort and encouragement they are. I also have been putting different of these verses to memory.
It has been wonderful reading and having different verses fresh on my mind through out the day. Recently when I have been discussing spiritual things with my mom and dad, I have been like, " I was just reading over that." It was exciting to have just read the very thing they were talking about. The benefits of getting in to God's Word!
Picture
Picture
For my prayer time, I do that mostly at night when I climb into bed. I just love getting into bed, and snuggling up and pouring my heart out to God. I always have so much on my mind, and it is such a comfort to pour that out to Him knowing He cares about every little detail of my life.
If you are like me and have not done this regularly before, I highly encourage you to set aside time each day and have some good, and much needed quality quiet time with the Lord. It will be worth it!! And you will be blessed as I have been.

Answered prayer

11/16/2017

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly* above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Ephesians 3:20-21
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.  James 5:16
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every  thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
  •  Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass. Psalms 37:4-5

    Matthew 7: 7-11
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
  •

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
  John15:7

I was thinking about answered prayers, and how they don't always look like  we think they should.
If we pray for something specific and it does not happen the way we prayed, then we can sometimes get the feeling that those prayers went unanswered.
I know though that God hears and answers all our prayers. He loves His children and cares about our needs.  But His answers may not always be what we want, when we want, or how we want. Instead He does even better! He gives us what is best for us and it is often way more above and beyond what we could possibly ask. Though for a time it may seem like unanswered prayer.

Why I thought of this just today, is because I was thinking of 2 prayers of mine that nearly seemed to me to be unanswered prayers. When I gave it a bit more thought though, I knew it was'nt that they were not answered, it just that it wasn't the way I wanted or when I wanted.
The one prayer was for God to send people to our Christian Library. I had felt on my heart over a year ago to start a little library here on our place with all of our great Christian books we have. And so we did. We got this little portable building from my mom and dad, gave it a  few coats of purple paint. Painted in large letters on the front of it, Renfroe's Christian Library. Put a sign out at the end of our drive way, as well as poster down where we get our mail in our little community, and on face book, etc... And then waited expectantly for people to come check out our Library and burrow a book! Tine went by and no body came. More time went by and still nobody. Now over a year later still no one regularly coming. We have had  couple of our friends and and few neighbors in all that time, but that is it. I keep praying, and praying. And i try to be patience, I really do. Now we are in the process of building a new Library building, one that is winterized and that we can heat. Last winter I just packed up the books and brought them in the house for the winter. I look forward to getting in finished and moving our books over to the our new building! But it would be nice to have some people coming by to get books. I will keep praying!
The next prayer was for many ladies to come to the Ladies Retreat I am planning. A couple months after the loss of our son Clayton, I was praying and thinking about other families we had heard about who had also experienced the tragic loss of a child, and I felt on my heart to organize a ladies retreat for these moms and ladies. So I started praying about it. And planning. And praying for a speaker. And I found one very quickly who fit the description I prayed for. And I got excited seeing God at work in this. And I continued to make plans and find a good location, and kept praying for God's guidance and direction. And stared putting the word out in every way I could think of. And prayed for God to send the ladies who would be blessed by this event. But now here we are with less than 4 months to go, and have no one registered and no one even saying they will go. And I did not mention I had several changes I had to make since I have been planning this. So it is easy to feel like just giving up. But I will keep praying!

I will keep praying and trusting my Father that He has a plan I don't see. I will trust Him that He knows best. After-all I am confident He was the one who put these ideas on my heart. So Hes got this.
   Our prayers are never unanswered!
