Hey there my beautiful blog readers! I'm back!
Back at it after our busy summer break! I'm going to try to blog or vlog regularly again now. But life hasn't slowed down much here in our house. In the summer we were busy with gardens, tending our farm animals, berry picking, and other summer stuff like Bible camp, and VBS. Now we are busy with homeschooling, tending our farm animals, and still garden stuff. We wait until the end of Sept. to dig our root vegetables because they keep better in the ground until our cold room in the basement cools off more, and they are not hurt by frost so you can leave them in the ground for sometime. And for the other vegetables we still thankfully have not had a hard frost here yet, and so all of those vegetables are still left and growing in the garden too. ( last year here for our area we had a hard frost Sept. 1st which killed our corn and brown beans before they were mature ) So I am very glad for the extended growing period this time, but then that does delay getting things done outside till later, which means then I'm still busy outside and in. When everything is done out in the gardens then I only have to focus on the schooling and indoor stuff. Which includes more time for writing and blogging. So I look forward to that. So in saying, I'm back at it, but I'm still very busy. Not sure if I will be posting much yet, or regularly anyway. And I haven't had a whole lot on my mind to share. I haven't had no time to think either! Would love to have life slow down a bit. But how does one do that? I was thinking how it might be possible to live a simpler life and still mother and home school my children. Still provide efficiently for our families needs and all, still grow a garden, but not have to be busy 24/7 to do it, and actually have time for visiting friends and family too. There has to be another way. I'm certain of that. But maybe not in our culture or the lifestyle we are use to. The verse came to my mind, "And having food and clothing, with these shall be content...". May we be over providing? May we be wanting way more than food and clothing? Like way, way more? Here is the complete verse. 1 Timothy 6:8-10 New King James Version (NKJV)8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. This verse reminds me of a thought my oldest brother shared with me a couple years ago. In his mind he asked this question to God, "Why does man have to work so hard?" And He felt God saying, "Why does man covet so much?" I will leave it at that for now, giving you something to ponder and take into consideration. I am sure I will be talking about this some more in the future, either by blogging or by a video blog. And if you have any comments for me or your thoughts to add to this please leave a comment and let me know. As always I love hearing from my readers! In the meantime seek first the kingdom of God! In Him, Mae
