Hey there, it's been a while since we've done a podcast episode due to the busyness of preparing for Mae's speaking events planned for March 5th, 24th, 2020. So it this episode we talk about that. The girls share a special song at the end of the podcast that they will be singing at our event.
I also encourage you to step out and do what God has placed on your heart and in your life not being held back by fear. And when you make that courageous step and share your testimony and your message it is limitless what God will with it. We are commanded to talk about His goodness and faithfulness in our lives. Just do your best and let God handle the rest!! And see Him to the work that only He can do. His Word does not go out void!! Praise the Lord! If you are in our area and want to attend please see my events page here on my blog and website for all the details. In Him, Mae

Hey there my blog readers! Here i come with another video blog post! It's been awhile I know. And awhile since I've did a written post too, but I have been so busy! One of the things keeping me busy is my speaking events I have planned for March which I talk about in the video. I am so excited about the opportunity to share my story loss and hope so that I can be a blessing to those in my community. Also I talk about the importance of going all in and all out for God. And that looking foolish is really not foolish at all. I also talk about are we wanting heaven more than we want God? Many people want heaven, but not really want God Himself and what living life fully surrendered to Him comes with. I also ask the question, "Are you saying yes to the things you should be saying no to and saying no to the things we should be saying yes to." Too often we can keep our selves so busy doing things that are not necessary and then we say no to the very things God wants us to do. I hope you find this encouraging and inspiring to go deeper, stronger, and all in and all out for God! Mae Renfroe We have had 3 deaths in our family in less than 3 years, (our 14 year-old son on April 19th, 2017, my Dad on Oct. 6, 2018, and my brother Lee on Dec.22, 2019) , so death and dying has been on our minds a lot lately. I have looked up verses on this subject, and found 25 comforting verses about death and those dying in Christ, and have them listed here. My daughters and I will be doing a podcast on this as well in the near future. May you find these verses comforting and encouraging. Mae Renfroe Comforting Bible Verses about Death for Those Dying in Christ
Copied from this link below https://www.kevinhalloran.net/comforting-bible-verses-about-death-and-dying-in-christ/ Romans 8:38-39 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:51-57 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 1 Corinthians 2:9 What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him. Revelation 1:17-18 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.” Revelation 14:1 And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!” Romans 14:7-9 For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. Philippians 1:21-23 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. James 1:12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 2 Corinthians 5:6-9 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words. 1 Peter 1:23-25 …You have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; for “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever.” Job 1:21 And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.” Comforting Bible Verses about Death from the Psalms Psalm 16:8-11 I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption. You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 34:4-5 I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. Psalm 46:1-2 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea. Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. Psalm 73:25-26 Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. Psalm 149:6 For the LORD takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.
Time is a very precious thing. In this episode we read verses about time, talk about being good stewards of our time, and making the most of of our lives and days for God.
I also talk about the fragility of life. When you have lost a loved one very suddenly and unexpectedly, you know that life is a very delicate thing and not to be taken for granted, not one day, not even a few minutes. All our days, hours, and minutes are precious gifts from God. May you be inspired to make the most of the time God has given you no matter how young or old you are. Your life is a miracle! And you are on this Earth and living in this time for a reason and purpose. Never forget that! In Him, Mae Renfroe www.lightsforjes.com This is a blog post I started writing this past summer and just now finished. These things came to me in my pondering about what God must be thinking of, or feels about, the things we do or don't do. I believe we can know exactly how God feels about everything in our lives by His instruction book -- the Bible. I've written this to read like a little letter from God just for you. As you read it may you feel the great care and love He has for you. Enjoy! Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV)28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. My precious child, you live in fear of so many things, yet I've told you to fear not and do not be afraid 365 times throughout the Bible. That's one for every day. Whenever you're afraid just trust in me. ( Psalm 56: 3-4 ) I told you I'd never leave you nor forsake you. ( Deuteronomy 31:8, Joshua 1:5, Hebrews 13:5, Isaiah 41:13) And that wherever you go, I'd be with you. ( Joshua 1:9, 2 Corinthians 13:11) Dear one, you worry about your protection, feeling like you have to protect yourself from the bad guys. But I'm your protector and protection. Your refuge, deliverer, and strong tower. ( Proverbs 18:10, Psalms 61:3, Psalm 18:2-3, Psalms 19:14) Remember, greater is He in you than he that's in the world. ( 1 John 4:4 ) How many times I've wanted to tuck you under my wings like a mother hen and you would not.( Matthew 23:37) You often run to other sources. Please stop running away and run into my arms instead. I didn't give you a spirit of fear but of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7 ) True love cast out fear. (1 John 4:18) And I give perfect peace to those who keep their minds on me.( Isaiah 26:3) My beloved, you worry and fret over so many little details. Be anxious for nothing, but pray about everything. (Philippians 4:6-7 )You can't change anything with your worries except for ruining your day. Don't worry about tomorrow. (Matthew 6:25, Luke 12:22, Matthew 6:34 ) And don't let your heart be troubled. ( John 14:27 ) Cast all your cares on me, I will take care of it for you and give you rest. ( 1 Peter 5:7, Matthew 11:28-30) And don't forget my dear child, you are more valuable than many sparrows. Matthew 10:28-31 You run to the doctor or for medicine over most any little ailment and sickness. Hello, I'm a great physician,( Luke 5:31-32, John 5:1-9). By my stripes, you are healed. ( Isaiah 53:5) And is my hand shortened that it can not save? (Isaiah 59:1) Or is there anything too hard for me. Jeremiah 32:27 You're looking for advice and guidance? Call on me and I will show you great and mighty things, Jeremiah 33:3. I gave you an instruction book that has everything you need to know about living life. Read it! I gave you guidelines and measures to live by for a reason. If you follow them you will have a lot less trouble in life, and better health. Trust me. And if you lack wisdom, just ask me. James 1:5 You live on too much coffee and too little sleep. Yet I've told you, "Behold I give my beloved sleep". ( Psalm 127:2, Psalm 4:8) You rush about wearing yourself out doing and filling your time with things I never intended you to do, all the while neglecting the things I did say to do. I want you study the Word to show yourself approved. ( 2 Timothy 2:15) Pray without ceasing. ( 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Acts 12:5, 2 Timothy 1:3 ) Teaching, instructing and training your children in the way they should go. ( Deuteronomy 6:5-9, Proverbs 23:6). Seek first the kingdom of God. ( Luke 12:22-32) And remember the great commission of spreading the gospel into all the world? ( Mark 16: 15 ) Someone somewhere, whether it be near or far, is waiting to hear the good news from you. May you be encouraged today that God loves you more than words could ever say, and He has you very best in mind! In Him, Mae John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.1 John 4:19 (KJV) We love him, because he first loved us.
Proving, not excusing!
Do you often catch yourself justifying or excusing something instead of proving it out? Here is the latest podcast the girls and I did. And below is the list of scriptures we read on the podcast, along with a few others that go with this subject. In scripture we are instructed to prove all things, prove whether something is right or good. Prove all things, hold fast that which is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:21 1 Timothy 6:6-12, Colossians 3:1-3 16-27, Philippines 4:8, Romans 12:1-2, 1 Just John 2:16 -17, Galatians 5:16, Mark 4:19, Ephesians 2:3 -6, 1 Thessalonians 5 : 21-23, Ephesians 5:10 We need to prove whether something is fit to watch, listen to read, etc… Prove if that action, attitude, or words are edifying and God-glorifying. Prove whether that outfit is modest. Prove is that place or event is honoring God. Prove whether that doctrine, believe, or teaching your hanging on to is founded on the Bible and Jesus teachings. Hoping you not only will enjoy this episode of our podcast, but that it will enrich your life in Christ and draw you closer to the heart of our Heavenly Father. This book, several years worth of blog posts, is full of encouragement, inspiration, and wisdom from my hose to yours! Be sure and share with friends! In Him, Mae Life has been busy at our house. And because of that, it's been two weeks since I did a video blog post, and over a week since I did a written post. Some of the things consuming my time lately are: ~ My husband coming home from Texas. ~ Going out to Edmonton with him for an appointment for our baby Faith concerning her head shape. All went well. ~ Planting in our garden. ~ And keeping our garden watered due to a major lack of rain in our area. ~ Still busy schooling. ~ Tending to the children. ~ Cooking and housekeeping. ( You know, the usual) Hoping things will slow down and I will get back to doing blog videos this week. And will continue writing as time allows. In the meantime, I would love to hear from you, my readers. Let me know you visited my website/blog. How you liked it. What was your favorite recent post of mine? Or anything else you would like to tell me. I would love to connect with you. I want to be a blessing and encouragement to you. And would like to know how I can do that even more. And if you have something I can pray with you about as well, please let me know. That what I'm here for. A big exciting thing for me that I'm really wanting to work on soon is a video of our story of loss and hope. I already have some done in that way, and just need to add to it and do some editing. My hopes for that video is to share it with as many people as possible through my website and blog, and you-tube, to give inspiration and encouragement to as many people as possible. I want to give life and hope to others from the loss of our son. That is what kept me going right from the beginning of loosing our son; is that I felt God had big plan in this for us. A plan to give life to others - eternal life in Christ. Only God knows how all He will use this, and what all plans He has, I just want to be His willing servant. And I just want to say yes to His will.
I would not only love to hear from you. But I would also love your prayers in this as well. For God's guidance and direction over me, and for extra time to accomplish this. (Extra time is not something I have a lot of as busy mom eight.) Please keep visiting my blog for more great stuff coming, and be sure to spread the word to others you know who would be blessed and encouraged by my website and blog as well. In Him, Mae It’s not what you believe, its the life you live. Too often people go by what they believe, and not by how they live. They focus on the verse Romans 10:10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:10 (KJV) That is certainly the place we start, but it doesn’t end there. That verse leads to a conviction and then onto conversion, and a life transformation. And from there it’s no longer a just a believe or head knowledge, but a life we live. A lifestyle. It’s not what we know and believe, but it’s what we do with what we know and believe. Remember even the devil believed and trembled. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. James 2:19 (KJV) So many people go through life believing, but not living it. It’s not that they don’t believe. They do believe, go to church, say many of the rights things, and know a lot of stuff about God and the Bible, and more than likely made the confession in Romans 10:10, but yet it is not how they do life or who they really are inside. They have the form. But they are lacking the power of God in their lives. 2 Timothy 3:5 (KJV) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. The "form" doesn't work. We need the real thing. We need a lifestyle change. We need the power and the working God in our lives. And we need the relationship with God. When there is a true conviction then there should be a life change. A transformation. A renewing. But of course, these things don’t miraculously happen overnight. There are some things that should not be apart of our lives when we become a Christian or profess to be children of God. We are not to continue to keep the stuff of the world, and of our former lives. We are to put off the old man. We need to clean out stuff that doesn’t belong and is not apart of God or honoring God. He needs to become a real part of our lives. The very core of our lives and not just on the sidelines. Ephesians 4:20-25 (KJV)20 But ye have not so learned Christ; 21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. 25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. James 1:22 & 25 (KJV) Let's put our believes into actions. Serve God with our whole heart. And be doers of the Word and not hearers only. Letting our light shine so bright so others can easily see Him in us. Luke 8:21 (KJV) And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it. In Him, Mae
Matthew 5:16 (KJV) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Proverbs 4:18 (KJV) But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. James 1:22-25 (KJV)22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. The choices we make today in how we use our time will affect both now and our future, either in a negative way or in a positive way. Whatever time we want to call it. Our downtime. Our free time. Our alone time. Our me time. Our spare time. Our extra time. We have choices to make and options to choose from on how to use this time that go something like this; good, better best. Good, better, best? What will it be? First ask yourself, “Is this a good use of my time?” Then, “What would be even better than that? And finally,” What would be the very best?” If we choose less than the best, then that’s exactly what we will have - less than the best. I am sure we all want the best. But it is a choice we have to make. And sometimes that choice is harder to make than others. And lots depend on the choices we make. Let’s always choose the best. What is the best for now and for the future? What’s best for us? What’s best for our families, and for others? The choice is yours to make. How you use your time is your business. But remember, every choice comes with consequences. These thoughts for this article came to me right after writing the article, The Role We Play. And I knew that those thoughts and things came to me for that article only because of the way I chose to use my time. And that I was able to write that all because of the way I used that time. Had I chosen to use that time to watch something on the little t.v. that was there beside my hospital bed, I wouldn’t have had that time to think, pray, and commune with God. What I would have forfeited. The way I chose to use that time not only benefited myself, but also many who will read what I wrote, either now or in the years to come.
It does matter how we use our time. It does make a difference. The choices we make today will affect not only now, but also our future, in either negative way or in a positive way. Galatians 6:6-8 (KJV)6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. 7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Good, better, best. What will it be? Good, better, best. Think of your future. In Him, Mae The role we play We have a role to play to be on the receiving end of God’s peace and blessings. Isaiah 26:3-4 (KJV) 3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. 4 Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength: God is the one who keeps us going. He is the one who gives us peace, and not just peace, but perfect peace. He is the one who heals our broken hearts, restores, and gives us joy again. God gives us hope. He gives us strength. He gives us comfort, and the courage to keep on going. And keep going strong. He gives us a new lease on life. But we have a role to play, and a job to do in all of this. 6 Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4: 6-7 We have to make the choice to trust Him. To rest in Him. To believe Him. To stay in His Word. To believe His Word. And trust His Word, that what He said He will do. Trust Him for who He is and what He does. Keep holding on to faith. And keep hoping. To choose joy over self-pity. To choose to go through. To keep our heads and eyes lifted up to Him. To let go of our own strength and wisdom and seek His. To keep trusting and believing that He will do His part and keep us in perfect peace. He said, “ Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Mathew 11:28 He restores. He heals. He gives hope again. He gives life. But we have to trust and believe. Believe He is who He says He is, that we are who He says we are, and that He can do what He says he can do. Believe, trust, and cling with all our hearts and minds. And He will give us perfect peace. We have to preserve, and keep going, even when the going gets tough. God didn’t say it would be easy. He didn’t say it would be pain-free. But He said, “ Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” Deuteronomy 31:6 And in Isaiah 41:10 (KJV),” Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Good thoughts and inspiration only come from being in His Word, and communing with Him. Oh, the peace we often forfeit and needless pain we bear, the only because we do not carry everything to God in prayer. And because we do not seek God, draw unto Him, read His Word regularly, and keep our minds on Him, and on the things above. What the world gives us is short term and temporal. What God gives us is long term and eternal. The world gives us band-aids or a quick fix. God gives us complete and perfect healing. The world gives us pleasure to make us feel good for a short time, but often that brings about even more problems in the long run. God gives us that which will outlast this lifetime. So we keep trusting He’s got a plan in what He brings us through, even though we can’t see that plan. We can either allow our pain and sorrow to swallow us up and make us bitter. Or we can go through strong and victorious and come out for the better!
We have to keep believing that He is working all things for our good. ( Romans 8:28 ) God knows best. We are here for His glory. To serve His purpose. To bring others to Him. It is not about us. It’s all about Him. And if we have a heart after God, that is exactly what we will want, and seek after. His purpose will become our purpose. Our ways will be fashioned after His ways. And our thoughts on the things above. Colossians 3:1-3 Rest, Believe, trust. Repeat. Keep your mind on Him. And stay in perfect peace! In Him, Mae Here is our newest baby! A Girl!! Faith Irene, weighing 7 lb.s and 5 oz.s Born via c-section on April 2nd, 2019. Now we have 5 boys and 4 girls! And I am now not only the youngest of 9, but also the mother of 9 too! The delivery went great. Wow, c-section is sure faster and easier than going through the long hard labor I have been use to. But the recovery process slower, and I am certainly more sore. But doing good. And baby is all healthy and eating and sleeping great! I was in the hospital for 2 days after the birth. The children sure were happy to have me and baby come home! You can see their joy and excitement in these photos. There is certainly nothing like a new baby in the house! And no better gift to give your children than the blessing a new brother or sister. Do you know what you're having? We never find out head of time if we are having a boy or girl, so the big gender reveal is at birth. Sometimes we have had a strong feeling one way or the other during pregnancy and we have been right. This time Paul felt it would be a boy, and though I had felt right off to begin with it was girl, I nearly lost that hope near the end due to him being so certain it was a boy. But she was a girl! The name Faith came to me shortly after I knew I was expecting. I had just had a miscarriage the month before. And when I found out I was expecting again, though I do not recall how it cam to me exactly, rather by a dream or just something that pooped in my head, it was like I was told by God we were going to have a baby girl and her name would be Faith. Something that was really neat was that I ended up with 3 wall hangings all about at that same time with the word Faith on them. I thought that was really cool. I have 5 in all now. Though along the pregnancy I did wonder if we would end up with a girl after-all. So I would often say I am holding out faith that this baby will be Faith. Since we were not completely sure our baby would be a girl we did not have a middle name ready, though I had played around with a couple names, but none I was really satisfied with. And honestly I really didn't hold out too much hope at that point for a girl anyway. Paul and the boys were all very confident we were having a boy. I was out numbed! So how and when did we get our middle name? Well the day she was born we started thinking of names. And asked others what they thought sounded good with Faith. We were given many great ideas, but really I wanted a name with a special meaning, something that meant life or restoring of life. With this new baby right from the beginning of pregnancy I was over joyed that God gave us new life again after loosing our son Clayton in April of 2017. I didn't know if He would bless us with another baby or not, though I was hoping. Especially with the baby being due in April was very special too. It was like God giving us a new date in April. One with good memories. So back to choosing a middle name. We googled names that meant life or restoration of life. And there was several, but none really seemed right. Then in the evening after Paul had gone home for the night, he sends me a text and ask what i think of the name Irene. Now Irene is one of my middle names. I would never ever thought of using it. It just never came to me, and I certainly didn't know it had any special meaning. But guess what, Paul said he googled it and it means peace. So what did I think of Irene knowing it means peace? I told him I thought it was great! So Faith Irene it was! And the more I thought about the name Irene and how it meant peace, the more I realized just how special, meaningful, and very appropriate it was. Peace and faith go together wonderfully! It is when we have complete faith and trust in God that we will be at perfect peace. Isaiah 26:3-4 KJV ) Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever:for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: And that is what God did for us after loosing Clayton. We had faith in Him, that even though we could not understand or know why this happened, we trusted Him just the same. And with that trust and deep faith in Christ, in return He gave us such deep peace and loving comfort. It was amazing the peace I felt right after our tragic loss. The pain still very real, but a deep and underlying peace that one can not even begin to describe, and that only God can give. And God is still doing that for us. We keep trusting and believing that He is working all things for our good. And He keeps giving us peace and joy. Only in God! What are you going through that you wonder if you can even keep on going? What are you trusting God for? What is it that has you barley hanging on? Do you feel like you've almost lost all hope of anything ever changing in your circumstance?
Please keep believing, keep trusting, and keep up your faith in God that He is in control and that He is working all things out for your good. ( Romans 8:28 ) Keep your mind on God and the things of God. Keep in His Word. And he will give you peace and comfort. And a reason, a purpose, and hope to keep going! In Him, Mae P.S. Please feel free to contact me if you would like someone to talk to as you are going through a rough time in your life. I would love to be an encouragement and support to you. And offer the comfort God has given me. The goodness of the 10 commandments. The role they play in our lives. And the big question, are they still for us today? These 10 beneficial laws were given by the Creator God to show us how to live a better life now and please God forever. God gave the 10 Commandments from Mount Sinai, accompanied by smoke, earthquakes and the blast of a trumpet to emphasize the importance of these laws. Moses recorded God’s words in Exodus 20 and recounted the event again in Deuteronomy 5. The 10 Commandments List in Exodus 20:2-17
The 10 commandments that God gave His people at MT. Sinia, and wrote with His very own finger, and now are written on our hearts ( Hebrews 10:16 -17 ), are very special and play a very important role for us today. But sadly there are so many misconceptions concerning them. The common modern believe you hear often is that the commandments are done away with. That could not be more false. The 10 Commandments are a guideline for us to live our lives by. And that is the only way we know sin. For sin is the transgression of the law. ( 1 John 3:4 ) They are God’s little set of rules on how He wants us to live, and It’s what sets His people apart from the world. If we threw out the 10 commandments and lived like the world, well, we would be just like the world then. We also know we woulnd’t get far in life breaking the laws of the land, and how much more respect and hounor should we have for the of laws God? All 10 of God’s commandments are still very much for us to keep today. Yes, even the 4th one about keeping the Sabbath day. There is great misconception just with that one alone. It is the common and popular belief that the 4th commandment was changed to Sunday in the New Testament. That belief is so contrary to scripture and couldn’t be further from the truth. None of the commandments were changed, as we can read in Jesus own words. Matthew 5:17-19 King James Version (KJV) 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. The keeping of the 7th Day Sabbath is so easy. But I think that is where many are willing to throw out all 10 commandments without question, yet bringing them all back except the 4th one, because they feel it is going under some ancient and impossible-to-keep law to keep the Sabbath. But keeping of the 7th Day Sabbath is just like most would do for Sunday. Sabbath is a day of rest and worship, and not a day do your normal work or shopping. That’s it, and that simple. Also there is a common belive that if you keep Sabbath instead of Sunday you are going under a law that Jesus set you free from because it was a burden. But the none of 10 commnadmnets are a burden and nothing to to be set free from. It is simpley the Christian way to live. I love Jesus words in these verses below. 1 John 5:3 (KJV) 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.John 14:15 (KJV) 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. If you would like to contact me to ask questions about anything I have written here, I would love to hear from you. My family and I have been keeping the Sabbath ever since I was little, so it has always been a part of my life. And I am always happy to be able to talk to others about it.
Keep serving Jesus with all of your heart, pleasing and honoring Him in everything! In Him, Mae Yes, God always hears us, and answers all our prayers. The problem is, we may not always like the answers. It is okay for us to prayer for some things that we think is good. But we need to be ultimately seeking His will in the matter and not our own. So then when the answer doesn't come the way we had hoped for, we are still okay with it, because what we really wanted was His will. Our true desire and want, is to want what He wants for us. A good thing when you are praying for a certain direction in your life, or for a certain door to open, is to pray that He would close every door you are not to walk through. And really seek and pray for His will in the matter and not your own. Rest, trust, and know He wants what best for us, and He can see that so much more clearly than we can. He can see the big picture and the future, unlike us who can only see the here and now. Never under estimate the power of prayer and the power of God!
Prayers does wonders for us in so many ways. When we prayer for certain things, not only do we receive the answers, "Yes", "No", or "Wait", but we receive so much more than that as well. When we fervently come to the Lord in prayer, regardless of the turmoil our minds, hearts, and spirits had just been in, our hearts are comforted, our anger melts away, our minds and our souls become peaceful, and fears and worries dissolve. It's beautiful and amazing! Take everything to the Lord in prayer, no matter how great or how small it may be. He hears and He cares. And regardless of how small it may seem to you, if it's troubling you, you need to release it to the One who can take care of it for you. ~ Keep diligent in prayer. It works! God is the answer to all our problems! In Him, Mae Welcome to week 5 of my video blog posts! So happy we are 5 weeks into this new year, and I managed to keep up with every video so far. Praise the Lord! I love doing these, and I am so glad I committed myself to do this. I have been wanting to do something regular for sometime, but kept putting it off. And it just seemed so hard for me to actually do something like this. But once I made up my mind that I would, I find it easy. So I encourage you to do the same. Is there something on your heart you have been wanting and waiting to do? Sometimes we have to stop holding back waiting for that perfect moment, and just do it! In Him, Mae In this video I talk about God's amazing love. Be encouraged and blessed!
Hi Ladies, Welcome to week four video blog posts. I am coming with 2 for you this week! So exciting! I had so much on my mind that I ended up with not one, but two videos! ( Underneath the videos you little find a brief discription of both. ) So enjoy, and may you be blessed, inspired, and challanged as you walk with God! In Him, Mae
Welcome to week 2 of my weekly video blog post! This one is about changing our mind set and way of thinking to be more God focused. And what it really means to give our hearts and lives to God. May you be encouraged and challenged in your walk with God! Note: Now that I am doing these video blog posts I will not be doing the written entries as often. So enjoy, and may you be blessed! In Him, Mae As we are about to start off this new year, I have been reflecting back over this past year and about how much we have to be thankful for. Wow, so much. So many things, in so many different areas, and in so many little details of our lives. It’s amazing to see God work in our lives. His goodness and faithfulness. God is good all the time, and all the time God is good! Praise the Lord! Just one of the many things I am very thankful for is the volume 2 book of, As For Me and My House. I am thankful that it is finally finished, and will soon be ready and available for purchase. It takes a lot of effort and time to do the self-publishing as I do. But I am thankful for that too. Self-publishing has been the only option for me in getting my books out there for you. I pray this book will be a blessing and an encouragement to my readers. That the messages held in it will inspire and challenge, as you walk with the Lord and raise your children for Him. As a mother, you have one of the greatest roles there is. Never underestimate the impact you will make on their lives for eternity. This is your destiny, and you are made for this. As you step in to this new year, I pray that you will be inspired to be and do all that God has for you. That you will be bold, courageous, and confident in Christ. And that you will know without a doubt who you are in Him. You are a daughter of the King, set apart for His use, a new creation, loved, accepted, forgiven, no longer a slave to sin, and an ambassador for Christ. May this shine forth brightly in all you do, and everywhere you go! Because you are special, you have Christ dwelling in you! I also want to encourage you, if you a feel God’s calling on your life in a certain direction, I hope you step into this calling with boldness and confidence. If you have this burning passion in you that you just can’t get out of your head and heart, then I hope you pursue after it. And don’t let fear stop you from doing it, and achieving it. Joshua 1:9 (KJV) Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. If you have a God-given dream, then go for it. And know He will not call you to something without giving you what you need to accomplish it. We read what Jesus did with his disciples in Mark chapter 6; He called them, He equipped them, and He sent them. He is doing that for you and I too. So let’s step into what He has for us and that desire that He has placed in our hearts, with all courage.
Let’s make this new year a year of change, a year of more, a year of boldness, a year of courage, a year of transformation, and year that we fulfill your dreams. If God gave you the dream, He will make it possible! Just keep dreaming, keep believing, and keep trusting! May you stay humble, stay focused, and stay blessed! Wishing you all the best in this new year! In Him, Mae Isn't that so amazing! God loves us right where we are. Regardless of what you've been through, what your past make look like, how cheap or used you may feel, and no matter what ugly and deep sins has been committed God still loves you. There is nothing too great you have done that He will not forgive. God is saying daughter, "I love you just the way you are, come onto me and I will give you a clean and fresh start. I will make you brand-new from the inside out!" We don't have to change for Him to love us. He loves us so much the way we are that He doesn't want us to stay that way. It is after we give our lives to Him that He begins the change in us to make us more like himself. In Him we become a brand-new person and a new creation. The brand-new person does not come first and then God loves. No, God loves us first. 1 John 4:19( KJV) "We love him, because he first loved us." Romans 5:8 (KJV) "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." In the book of John we read the beautiful story of the woman caught in adultery and of Jesus forgiveness. Her accusers, the scribes and pharisees, wanted her stoned as was the custom then. But Jesus simply said," Go, and sin no more." John 8:1-11 (KJV) 1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. 2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. 3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. You can also read another amazing story of Jesus's love and forgiveness to a woman in Luke 7:36-50. What a loving God we have. Enjoy and soak in these verses on His love for you. Ephesians 2:4-5 (KJV)4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) John 3:16 (KJV)16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Zephaniah 3:17 ( NIV)The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. John 5:13 (KJV)13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place. Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 1 John 4:16 (KJV)16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 1 John 3:1 (KJV)3 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 1 John 4:8 (KJV)8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. Galatians 2:20 (KJV) 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV)3 The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. Psalm 86:15 (KJV)15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. Psalm 136:26 (KJV)26 O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever. Deuteronomy 7:9 (KJV)9 Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; 1 Peter 5:6-7 (KJV)6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Dear friend, I may not know what you have been through, but I know that I serve a loving and merciful God and that He will forgive all your sins and make you make a brand-new person. Just cry unto Him confessing your sins and acknowledging your need for him and He will give you new life! This is your moment. He is waiting for you. In Him, Mae P.S. Be comforted with these verses knowing there is nothing that can separate you from God's love. Romans 8:37 ( NIV ) No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. One night this summer when I was awake thinking and praying about things. This thought came to me, God can’t use what we don’t give Him. Now that may seem odd when we know God owns the Universe all that is in it. But He relies on us, His people, to give and offer up to Him ourselves and what we have for His use. At the moment I had that thought I also immediately thought of the story of the little boy with lunch of 5 loaves and 2 fishes. God owned everything in this world and anything could have been at His disposal to feed these 5 thousand men plus women and children, but instead, He depended upon a little boy and his little lunch. This required that the boy put himself out and to offer his lunch for Jesus to use. The boy must have wondered what Jesus would ever do with that meager amount of food for so many hungry people but he wanted to do what he could to help and gave it to Jesus just the same. Then Jesus gave thanks for the food, and the disciples began to pass out the fish and loaves to the crowd of 5 thousand. Not only was the whole crowd fed, but there were also 12 baskets of left overs! The story of the 5 loaves and 2 fish from the gospel of John. John 6:5-13 New Living Translation (NLT) 5 Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked, "Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?" 6 He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do.7 Philip replied, "Even if we worked for months, we wouldn't have enough money to feed them!"8 Then Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, spoke up. 9 "There's a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?"10 "Tell everyone to sit down," Jesus said. So they all sat down on the grassy slopes. (The men alone numbered about 5,000.) 11 Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks to God, and distributed them to the people. Afterward he did the same with the fish. And they all ate as much as they wanted. 12 After everyone was full, Jesus told his disciples, "Now gather the leftovers, so that nothing is wasted." 13 So they picked up the pieces and filled twelve baskets with scraps left by the people who had eaten from the five barley loaves. What a beautiful miracle that only God does! But notice that miracle required the act and obedience of one boy to give his lunch. Are we offering what we have, no matter how small or meager it may appear, for God to use? I know this concept may seem strange when we know everything belongs to God already. But that is the way God does His work. He works through willing, obedient, and faithful people. People that are willing to lay themselves down for His service, who are willing to give of their time, talents, money, etc. But it requires our giving. If we don’t give it God can’t use it. And if He can’t use us He will use someone else because His work will be accomplished - with or with out us! He will use someone else who is more willing and they will receive the blessing that comes with doing God’s service, not us. I don’t mean just giving what comes easily to us, but also what comes hard. What takes us out of our little comfort zone. What stretches us beyond the limits we have set for ourselves. What takes us to places we would rather not go or do things we would rather not do.
Are we willing to do this? Are we saying, “Lord I am your willing vessel for your use in whatever or wherever you want me to go or do. I am all yours, you can use me Lord. And I know you will equip me for you will call me to do.” Or have we put up a wall and said, “I can do this and this Lord, but I won’t do this.” Or, “I will give this and this, but I won’t and just can't give that Lord.” We do that, and we are limiting what God can do through us. If we don’t give it God can’t use it! In Him, Mae (This message and post is from the notes from my first Ladies Bibles study held in our little library on our property. I am so thankful to God for the cozy little space for doing stuff like that.) I felt like what God wanted me to share with you all tonight is that He is sufficient for all our needs, and that we are not to feel inadequate or belittle ourselves. But we are to be bold, strong, confident, and courageous in God! In my attempt and effort to put together a great Bible study for my first one I was diligently praying about it, and practically begging God to clearly show me what it was I was to present and share with the ladies this first time. On one particular evening just 2 days before the Bible study I was out for my evening walk. I was thinking and praying about the Bible study. I said, " Lord I just don't feel ready, and I don't feel equipped for this. Yet I know Lord you have already equipped me with all I need through your Word and the Holy Spirit." I wondered why I felt this way when I knew well God already gave me what I needed. I got thinking who it was that wanted me to think and feel this way. Of course Satan. God does not want me to feel unequipped. He doesn't want me to have these negative thoughts. Then I started thinking of verses in Bible that we can claim and stand on. That we can know without a doubt that God is for us and not against us. That He gave us all we need and in Him we lack nothing! Here is the verses I came up with. According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 2 Peter 1:3 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7-8 5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. 6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. 7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest. 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua 1:5-9 God truly does provide 'everything we need' but we need to find it, reclaim it, and then commit to using it the best way we can.
God wants us to seek Him diligently. Put all else aside and depend wholly upon Him and Him alone. Jesus said Seek and you shall find, knock and it will be opened unto you. The problem is we often forget to knock. So let's start seeking and knocking! ~ Remember you have all you need because you are His masterpiece! In Him, Mae How about listing to only Christian music, and nothing else? Hey, would you like to join me in listening to only Christian music? It will change your life! And for the better! Trust Me! There was a time about 11 to 12 years ago when I use to listen to most any country music station that came on the radio. What I now call worldly music. ( It was in small amounts and not everyday mind you, but still. ) I never really thought much of it. I never really considered that it wasn't pleasing or glorifying to God. That never even crossed my mind. I was just enjoying the music. Enjoying the beat and rhythm. Then something changed. Somehow it hit me that all that we do, all that we watch, or listen to is to be pleasing and God honoring if we are indeed His children. And most country music certainly does not do that! So that was it. I was off of every station but Christian. no more worldly junk for me! That was the same time when I changed the movies I watched and the books I read. And the same goes for our children even in their teens. They know I don't allow or respect worldly music. Unfortunately when out and about in stores, in Doctor or dentist offices I sometimes have to listen to the worldly music against my will. And what a shock I get! Seems the worldly music has gotten much worse since I use to listen to it. It was some horrible stuff I heard and just a common country station. YUCK! My all time favorite verse in the Bible to use to rate music, movies, ect... is Philippians 4:8. If the music, movies, and books fits this verse then your good to go, if not out it goes! That simple! And we need to really consider the power of music and lyrics. They effect us more than we think. And they clog our brain. So if it is is not good stuff then there we are with all this junk in there, and floating around, and coming to our memory when ever we want or maybe even when we don't want it to. Christian music is so full of encouragement, of hope, inspiration, and powerful words and truth that lift us up and keeps us going strong as a believer. And if you have the music playing through out your day you are like getting a devotional after devotional all day long! Not just your 15 to 30 minutes in the morning or evening. And what better words, or phrases to have floating around in your head, and coming off your lips! God gets praise and glory! And you get a boost of energy and a dose of hope to keep on going! My favorite Christian radio station is out of Tyler, Texas. So when we are down here in our Texas home that is the radio station I have on in our home or car and it is continuous great Christian music from many great Christian artist. And now my son has figured out that we can also hear it when we are in our Canada home too! So if you are going to do Christian music this is the radio station you will want. Wherever you are in the world you can still listen to it!! https://kvne.com/ So I do hope you will, if you don't already, take up the challenge with me. Your whole life will be blessed for it! And God will be honored!
~May every little detail of your life be honoring and pleasing to God! In Him, Mae I am excited about a video blog post I am planning to do soon about what God is doing in our lives and with our story. In this video I will share the story of the tragic loss of our 14 year-old son in April 2017. As I share the story of our great loss I will also be sharing about the hope we have in Jesus. And what God has been doing in our lives between then and now. Because of our loss and through our loss.
It is a beautiful story in the making. That I am more than confident. But when you can't see the whole story, and you can't see the ending from the beginning it is so hard to go on in faith knowing that there will be an extraordinary ending that we can't even begin to imagine or think. I am not referring to the end of story when we will be gloriously carried Home to be forever with our Heavenly Father. But the end here on earth. How the story goes down here this side of heaven. I know that God has a beautiful ending here through and because of our loss and that our story is not over yet. My desire is to be a vessel that He can use to bring hope, life, encouragement, and inspiration to someone else who is hurting. A voice He can speak through. A life He can use for His glory. Whatever you have been through or are going through, know that God loves you more than anything. He sees your pain, and He hears your cries. He knows and He cares. He is coming through on your behalf! Your story is not over. He has an amazing and beautiful ending for you! In Him, Mae ( This video blog post mentioned above will be done in our little library building in our Alberta home. You should be able to expect to see it here on my blog in 2 to 3 weeks. ) |
